How about doing something about the people who use these weapons to kill. I grew up in a time when we had gun clubs in our schools and students actually brought there guns to school. Amazing. Not one single person was ever shot. We actually put a value on life.

I remember as kids we played cops & robbers -cowboys & indians. Now you can killed just thinking about your past!

That big group of people from Central America, that wanted to immigrate to USA, legally or otherwise -- they were fleeing repressive governments and rampant gangsterism. Why didn't they stay in their homelands & fight for their freedom, and rid their country of gangs? Could it be due to the fact that the general populace of that country has no legal right to arm themselves? Could there EVER come a time when our own goverment becomes that oppressive, &/or gangsterism & drug lords run rampant here so that the streets are unsafe even in the daytime, much less at night? Of course, that could never happen here, right? Never in the good old US of A, right? So lets just repeal the 2nd amendment, right?

All I see here is people discussing guns. People are walking around London with concealed knives and killing people. What are they supposed to do? It's happening. Innocent people are dying. The London mayor is mainly talking about people carrying knives in public. What would you do in his position? Stay on topic. Address the issue. It's real.

Sorry friend the facts don't support your statement.
West Virginians are more likely than people in other states to use guns to kill wives and girlfriends, to kill people accidentally and to kill themselves, according to a new report released this week.

The report, from the Center for American Progress, looked at 10 categories of gun violence. It found that West Virginia ranks among the top in several areas, including the export of guns later used in crimes, mass shootings, fatal gun accidents, gun-related suicides, police officers killed with a gun, fatal shootings by police and gun-related murders of women by intimate partners.

None of that is the problem. The problem is stupid parents telling thier kids that they are so special that they deserve everything. Who cares that they have never done anything to deserve it. So now they think everything is due them and if they dont get it they go kill anyone who does.

Don’t just snivel, start a movement to ban cars!!!
Accidents happen you nitwit. Very few set out to kill someone with their cars, let alone themselves!
But Columbine, Sandy Hook, Parkland, Virginia Tech and the hundreds of other MASS SHOOTINGS are NOT accidents! They are deliberate murders with GUNS!!!
ARE YOU AND ALL THE TURDS HERE TOO DUMB TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE???
That’s hilariously stupid!!!

How about getting your "facts" from an unbiased source? Seems the "Center for American Progress" is extremely left wing and likely skewed their facts to fit their agenda......

A police officer friend recently posted this thought to his social media account. "Maybe, just maybe we have a societal problem because the banning of guns clearly doesn't stop people from committing homicides. We should start with how we deal with criminals, the mentally disturbed and kids whom lack discipline." Worth thinking about IMO.

West Virginia has the 13th highest death rate due to gunshot in the nation. I guess folks there just like to shoot each other and say we don't need no gun laws!

13. West Virginia
Death by firearm per 100,000 population: 14.3

No permit required for a purchase of a firearm.

That's the OP's point. We haven't done NOTHING...we've done LOTS of wrong things.

We legal gun owners want things done...but we want things that make sense and will work.

The fact is; it's not the availability or amount of guns that is the problem. I live in West Virginia and EVERYBODY shoots, owns, loves, and carries guns of every type; pistols, revolver, shotguns, AR style, AK style...you name it.

Every 10 year old kid can and does shoot and hunt...and pretty well.

Even with this saturation of firearms we don't go around shooting each other.

We agree, SOMETHING needs to be done...but it isn't the thing that's been done so far...taking guns away from folks who aren't breaking the law isn't it.

Another left of center source. Notice how they don't separate suicides from the totals. They are cherry picking the information to suit their agenda. It's not the tool, it's the person that needs to be controlled.

For goodness sake, this point of this post is all about you -- keeping your gun ---
As far as I'm concerned -- Keep the damn thing --- But keep it locked-up & unloaded
As for me --
I'll keep my Steak Knives in the kitchen drawer ---
Thank You

an unloaded & locked up gun never has done anyone much good in a robbery or home invasion...hope you can get to your little knife when someone breaks in your house...maybe you have a big dog??

They tried banning alcohol at one time in our history. How did that work out?

And many of those deaths were caused by people texting when they were driving, why no protests demanding that cellphones be outlawed.
