I like it...easy enough for me and very convenient from Lightroom. I like how easy it makes sharing as well.

I like and use Flickr. I like it a lot. The display of images is very good. I use Instagram quite a bit too. Lately I noticed that Flickr has restricted the number of groups a photo can be put in with the free edition. The main concern I have is that future of Yahoo in general is quite cloudy and they have done a lot of evil like being hacked multiple times and failing to notify users in a timely manner. Most of it has been sold, the company is very on the ropes and is probably not viable for the medium term. I love the posting methods, the groups, the favs, the email system in Flickr and the full size image format. When I use Instagram, it feels awful to have my images displayed on a tiny cell phone screen and to see others that way but it is wildly popular and you tap a worldwide audience. As for Instagram followers I can gain 10 followers in a day and then lose 15. My follower count fluctuates wildly.

I've been using it since 2012. It is a convenient way to share selected photos with family and friends. You can upload directly from Lightroom, which is convenient.

FYI - Flicker was sold off to Verizon from Yahoo over the summer of 2016.

This is a social media platform. I think you will find the answers very age related. Folks between 60 and dead have no interest in it. They find it a gimmick, a waste of time and don't much like having to upload images often and keep up with it. The amount of that age group using Instagram is going to me even smaller. I have found it to be showcase of fantastic images that I can only hope to equal someday and a fantastic way to realize what a really quality landscape, portrait of wildlife/nature shot should look like. Most of the time qualify Exif information is there to see what body, lens, and setting were used to create truly inspired shots.

I do. A local ad agency found my work there and hired me for one of their clients. They want me for future work. The shots they found were titled to locations the client wanted.

I just got a notice that Yahoo is going to up the yearly fee (mail) to $35. I've used Flickr for years to archive my photos (they are archived on other places also). I reading more about opting out of Yahoo, the consensus is that if you opt out of Yahoo, you Flickr account will be deleted. I HATE to pay for something I do not use (Yahoo mail), but if it means keeping my Flickr account active, I may have to pony up for the fee. Anyone else know about this?

Yahoo has a basic plan that is always free. They also have a pro plan that is completely advertisement free and allows you to use it like a POP3 account, like Outlook or Thunderbird.
If you don't mind using their web mail and don't mind the ads, it is free and so is Flickr. I am noticing some squeezing on Flickr account activity to coax us into going to the pro version of Flickr.

I use Flickr all the time but not to post photos but to see what others have. I use it to gauge the quality of photos so I search by brand and type of lens. I understand that these are the best but that is what I am looking for.
