It's hard to add to all the complimentary posts already up Treepusher....I went back to the "Witch" pix---Such an amazing contrast!....but I guess in my antiquated mind, I still wonder why crop the top of the hair?
When are you having a "Gallery Showing" and where?

The beautiful Helen seems to be looking for her Paris. Lovely!

Great portrait done in a classic mode. Also great model and expression. I like that softness while not affecting focus. Wanna tell us how you did it so's we can benefit from your expertise? Oh, yes, I prefer only one highlight in each eye - easy to remove.

There's a engineering joke: What's the measure of beauty necessary to launch one ship? Ans: One Milli-Helen.

Thanks, Boentgru, a good one, lol! Thanks for the laugh, it's much appreciated, and thanks for your visit!

Madame Pocahontas is not the face that launched a thousand ships and started a war that lasted ten years. But then, Helen had a great publicist. Altho it boggles the mind that with all the hubbub, no one bothered to take a decent shot of her to pass along.

At the very least, this modern version of Helen ought to be worth a few rowboats and a good bar fight.

A beautiful lady certainly and a lovely shot of her.

What an outstanding portrait Randy, absolutely gorgeous and a great WOW for the beautiful lady.

Thanks, Mike. We're making progress. I couldn't ask for a better model than Madame P, and great fun doing them and seeing the improvement from even a month ago.

I'll pass along your kind words to Madame P. I'm sure she'll smile all day.

Always appreciate your visit and kind words! Glad you enjoyed this one. : )

Beautiful portrait Treepusher, very well done, super

Thanks, Gregory. They're getting better, altho having a beautiful model is giving me incentive to do one worthy of her, so she won't put the kibosh on the whole project, lol. I think she's a little surprised at how well this last batch has turned out, given how dreadful some of the early ones were.

And the garbage bag backdrop probably didn't inspire confidence... LOL

Glad you liked this one, and thanks for your visit and kind words. I do appreciate it!

Randy after looking at the download I ran out and launched my boat, But then I forgot why. Now I am out in the middle of the river without a paddle. This is really great a portrait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Jim. I've been up that same river myself more than once, lol.

I'm pleased you liked this. It's a terrible ordeal to work with her, lol, but somehow I force myself to do so. We all have our crosses to bear.

Thanks for your very kind comments and visit, I very much appreciate them!

Thanks, Robert. A contrast indeed from those early attempts at portraiture. But I'm trying hard to learn, and I think it shows. Still a surprise Madame P didn't kill me when she saw those witch shots, lol.

As for the top of the head, it's apparently the fashion now. Takes some getting used to, but growing on me. And ditto the horizontal crops, rather than the verticals. Strange at first, but I'm loving them! I'm not a fan of all things new, but I do actually like this approach to portraits.

And the Galleries aren't exactly banging on my door, begging for my work, lol. But who knows--maybe they'll come around?

Thanks for your very kind words and visit, Robert. I always appreciate them!
