Thanks, Sylvia. It's been a fun project, and far from over. But these are actually beginning to verge on 'almost acceptable,' lol.
I still have a lot to learn, and of course downside is there are limitations in my equipment and I'm a long way from mastering lighting, so they're far from perfect. On the bright side, tho, the trash bag backdrop seems to work pretty well, so we're saving all kinds of money there! : )
Thanks for your visit and kind comment, I really appreciate it, and thanks for those thumbs! Someday I might even deserve them!

My wife is getting the hang of Peter Hurley!!!! :D
She loves this one!!!
Thanks, Ron, and good to know she's coming around at last. I like his style very much. Can't afford his kind of set-up, so have to make do with flashlights and trashbags, but everyone's got to start somewhere, lol.
If your wife's a fan, Peter does have a number of YouTube videos, and drops a pearl here and there even during his interviews. The tutorials are really worth watching, and he's a lot of fun to listen to. Sadly, can't afford his DVD tutorials myself, but I figure if I keep practicing my portraits for, say, 250 years or so, I might eventually do something almost as nice as his. ; )
Glad she enjoyed this one, and thanks as always for those thumbs and your visit!

Very nice Randy, and a beautiful model. So do you keep her in a kennel?
No, but I make her clean them, lol! Thanks, Mary. I expect she could earn a lot more by modeling than the pittance I pay her, but I'm not going to tell her that... Who would clean the kennels then?
Besides, if she left, she would no longer be able to benefit from my wisdom, nor bask in the wonder and glory of my creative brilliance. *cough cough*
On top of which, I love her to death, and I'd just plain miss her!
Thanks for your fun comments and visit, I always appreciate them!

Thanks, Mare. A pretty lady and not a bad pose. She's been a big help as I'm learning. Don't think we're done yet, either, but at least these are getting better.
Glad you liked it, and thanks as always for your visit and kind comment, it's appreciated, and thanks for those thumbs!
Beautiful portrait Randy!

Madame Pocahontas is not the face that launched a thousand ships and started a war that lasted ten years. But then, Helen had a great publicist. Altho it boggles the mind that with all the hubbub, no one bothered to take a decent shot of her to pass along.
At the very least, this modern version of Helen ought to be worth a few rowboats and a good bar fight.
There's a engineering joke: What's the measure of beauty necessary to launch one ship? Ans: One Milli-Helen.
She is definitely BEAUTIFUL.
