I guarantee that if Menelaus had an image like this to put on a milk carton, he could have easily tripled the size of his armada. You've outdid yourself with this one!!!

The beautiful Helen seems to be looking for her Paris. Lovely!
Thanks, Sirius_one. Could be, altho the original Helen never seemed to have much of a thing for Paris. She was simply the prize in the Miss Olympus 1300 B.C. Beauty Contest.
As I understand it, instead of getting paid for his judging efforts, Paris received Helen in lieu of a couple of goats. He (and all of Troy, for that matter) would have been way better off with the goats. But that's another of Homer's epics, titled 'The Idiot.'
Or was that Dostoyevsky? Hmm. And just what was Dostoyevsky doing in ancient Greece? Hmm.
LOL
Thanks for your visit and kind words. They're always much appreciated!

Great portrait done in a classic mode. Also great model and expression. I like that softness while not affecting focus. Wanna tell us how you did it so's we can benefit from your expertise? Oh, yes, I prefer only one highlight in each eye - easy to remove.
Thanks, George, and no great secret. I'm sure there are at least a dozen ways to do it, but I do a couple of things for my softening. First I add a layer of Gaussian blur, mask it, and then use a black brush repeatedly at about thirty percent opacity to wipe away the blur from the areas I want sharp.
Second, I'll also on occasion use a layer of Topaz Detail3, Soft and Dreamy, either I or II, depending on how much blur I want, then ditto, mask it off from the areas I want in sharp focus.
Both work, and together they give a nice effect.
Thanks for your visit and kind comments, and thanks for the tip about the highlights. Much appreciated!

Thanks, Ray. I do think this one is a step forward. But she's so pretty, it distracts from the flaws in technique (that's in my favor, of course).
Apparently a thousand ships didn't get the job done. Poor planning. All they needed was one horse. ; )
Thanks for your visit and the smile. Always appreciate it!

Thank you, Jim. We're making real progress on these, and yet it's still a lot of fun. I still haven't finished going thru the shots from that shoot, might be more like this one still sitting there.
Have another session with her tomorrow, and we'll see what else I can try to get a shot worthy of her.
Thanks for your kind comments and visit, they're always much appreciated! And thanks for those thumbs!

Thanks, Corky. Madame P is very pretty, and while I've done some really dreadful shots of her, that's my fault, not hers, lol.
Glad you liked this one. Thanks for your kind words and visit, they're always much appreciated!
