no....never.
never ever.

WHY would you remove the card in the first place, other than for downloading files....and then you would immediately REPLACE it in the camera (or insert another card).

do you go on a car trip and not check the gas in the tank?

PS, I thought EVERYONE here on UHH will ONLY use a camera with 2 cards anyway so this not having a card would NEVER happen to a person here on UHH.

That feeling! I plan for an outing, plan out which cameras and lenses i am going to use. I get to the place that i planned for, see a scene, turn on the camera, and it says,
"No Card"

How about “No Battery”?

I never take them out of either camera. I check them once a month if not used for a while.

Not quite. My old cameras only have one slot.
NEVER empty.

oh yes, funny ... for me, I happen to have two systems and when IT has happened, I got to switch the SD card. Fortunately, they are available at the closest walmart

Climbed the steps at the Vatican to the top of the dome..... which in the summer is not a smart move ....... turned on camera... no card.

My saving grace the battery grip had a 8 gig card in the storage slot. Some one was looking out for me that day.

I had a similar episode: Day #1 had a great day of shooting; Day #2 I spend my camera to a message saying "Disk Corrupted" (Sigh)

I now keep a 64MB card in the console in my car, don't ask me how I learned to do this.

Did it a few months back, the first time ever as I'm usually so careful with 'spares and backups'.

Luckily I had only gone out to take some very early morning practice 'runner' pics. Put it down to a very early start

I went on a camera club field trip, went to the trunk and then remembered that I left the whole camera on the kitchen table. I tutored the rest of the day. At least the camera had the card and battery installed. Never done that since.

One time I got in the car and before I started the car, I checked the cameras. One of them had no card. I went back in the house, picked up the card and went back to the car. The other camera had a card, both had batteries. I don't know why I checked the cameras. I had never done that. Must have had one of those ideas the something was wrong.
