Just curious which one you would use and feel free to edit and show your vision. Be creative! I am about to start editing them all. My vision is more rustic, almost painted on the wood and sanded away. All of the images were taken with 50mm 1.4 at f/9 ISO100 A 1/500
Thanks in advance for your input!

#2, I like the wake , the tilt of the boat, fix the horizon and take a second look, Bob.

All 3 of your pics are good and will be improved with a little cropping and colour adjustment. I am intrigued as to how you are going to transfer your finished picture onto a piece of wood !

If you are looking for a critique, the next time you shoot a picture like this, place the boat so that it is not in the center of the picture. Use the rule of thirds. Allow the boat to have something to travel into. For example, the boat in #2 is about to nose into the edge of the picture. If the boat weas on the right of the frame, it would look like it was going somewhere and have room to get there. However, the shots are nice and clear with nice color and light. Just a thought.

Perhaps a little constructive cropping, reduce sky and the right side, that would give the boat a shift to the right and someplace to go in the frame

Thank you Gary521! I took your advice and adjusted the crop the best I could. What do you think? Not much room to work with because it will be 48X36 piece of wood

#1 I would flip it so it is going right to left. When looking at a newspaper or picture we look at the right side first. Just my thought. all are great pictures. - Dave

I have to disagree with the flip it idea. First of all, in our culture we look in the same manner as we read; i.e., left to right and top to bottom. But, more importantly in this case a horizontal flip will cause the name of the the boat to read backwards. . .not a good idea for a gift of the boat owner.

I agree. All that is needed is a crop that allows more space in front of the boat than behind.
On the other hand all this might be down to personal taste. :?

Thank you Mooseeyes! I took your advice and adjusted them as much as I could. Posted them a few comments up. Let me know your thoughts.

Vote for number two ! Use levels adjustment to darken slightly, and sharpen to 80%.

Thank you jeryh! I really love the action in that picture, but I am disappointed that you can't see the name of the boat.

Sky looks good........but the horizon line needs a slight adjustment to the left.

Thank you photophly!! I tried to adjust the horizon. Did you notice my recent post and do you think it looks a little better?

Thank you Bob!! I worked a little on the crop, tell me your thoughts. Didn't have a lot of room to work with, do to the size I am cropping it but luckily with the 50mm I had extra space to choose my crop.
