It could have at one time been a serious consideration by Nikon, but time and technology have passed it by. We might could start a new rumor, due to recent developments, and create some buzz about a Z760...

Will you even recognize the person you were before you changed to a mirrorless camera?

Nikon was about to release the D760 but they got a call from CHG CANON and they now get back to the drawing board.

Hey mirrorless is nice: I own a Z6. Mirrorless, in its present incarnation, regardless of brand, will not replace a D5 (insert Canon equivalent) with a 400/2.8 for night time football. Not even anywhere near close. Best of luck.

The greatest things about photography are not reflected in mirrors.

The D750 was and still is a great camera. Look at the now low price -- 50% of the original price,- a steal for such a good camera. I hav had one for 4 years and am thinking of grabbing a new one at this price.

That's why I think Nikon went back to the drawing board and I think they will come out with the D750Z. The D750Z is the same as the D750 there is really no difference except that they remove the mirror and remove the AF module. Install an EVF where the prism is and put the camera on permanent liveview mode.

Man, you guys just keep guessing. Guess what -- you're NOT going to out guess Nikon. AFAIK, an upgrade to the 750 is due next year. When? What? IDK.

I can confirm that. I switched to Sony mirrorless 18 months ago, and the grass indeed is greener on this side of the fence.

This is what the slow death of the DSLR looks like. DSLR cameras will be updated at ever longer intervals, until they won't be at all anymore.

I am not guessing. What I said was what I am sure Nikon is not going to do.

The new rumor is that the D760 will be released the first quarter of 2020.

Released or announced?

So far they have been quiet on the topic.
