What Happened To The Nikon D760?

I read an article about 6 months ago, that Nikon was going to announce the update to the D750 around the end of 2019. Well, the 2019 year is coming to a close. Nikon has released two full frame mirrorless cameras, and a crop sensor mirrorless, the Z-50, which is pre-order now. The D750 was released in the Fall of 2014, with 24 megapixels. And later became Camera Of The Year, by the now terminated Popular Photography Magazine. The D760 was rumored to have a Sony 36 megapixels sensor, the same that is in the D-810 and the Pentax K:-1, which was Pentax's first full frame camera. The D760 was to have 4K video. The D750 sold new for about $2200 when released. You can get brand new and refurbished ones, at much lower prices today. The D810 is discontinued now, but still available in refurbished or used. Wouldn't an upgrade to the D750, be a D810? They are still available. The D760 would certainly cost at least $2200. Or will Nikon just scrap the D760 altogether. With Nikon concentrating on Mirrorless Cameras for the future.

The point is that everything the OP stated was rumors! Nikon never announced anything. There are two months left in the year. Wait and see. Perhaps you should select from current products and not supposed future ones. Best of luck.

Why? You can't believe everything you read on the internet, especially rumors and speculations without supplied documentation. People write all sorts of stuff for attention and clicks!

Right! We can guess that there will be a D760, but maybe there won't be. If someone is holding off buying a D750 because the D760 will be better, maybe the D760 will never exist. As time goes by, would the D750 ever advance to the D800? That would be an odd situation. Maybe Nikon shouldn't be advancing by ten. They could have the D750, D751, D752, etc.

Nikon NEVER said anything about updating the D750 around any date. SORRY.
Nikon rarely publishes anything ahead of an announcement. However, just recently Nikon stated they would be bringing out the D6, but specifics were not discussed.
