I have on the lens. Go on and comes off quick and easy. I never loose the cap that way.

Drill small hole in cap
Knotted String thru hole to retain cap
Tie loop in other end and add belt clip
Put round key retainer on pants belt loop
Clip cap to pants. Yr welcome.

Oh, wow, Lizzy .... all that trouble, huh?

I wear sweats ... no belt loops ...

And, if I did something like that - the weight would most assuredly pull them down ....

Whoops!!!!

Usually I wear pants even with a T shirt.

Of course I mean no offense, I am just joking. I don't care where or even if someone carries/uses a lens cap.

Of course you do, Dennis ... and so do I ...

But, quite possibly - Beach Bums don't ...

And some trunks don't have any pockets ....

But, that's changing, slowly, too ...

Geez, eight pages and counting about whether to use a tether on you lens cap on not? And arguing about pocket lint? Let's get a life. Will someone please start another post?

If you don't use either kind ... what do you DO with your cap, when you're shooting?

I either stick it in my pocket or put it on the cap-holders on my straps!

I leave mine at home. I always keep a good quality UV filter on the lens.

Heck NO, I don't tether caps!

When I was about three years old my mom used to tether my gloves when I wore a coat. I learned quickly to hate that also.

For what it matters to everyone, when you put a cap in your pocket, remember to have the inside of the cap facing outwards in your pocket. That way any condensation will not form on the inside of your cap as you eventually replace it on the lens.

Not to be difficult but I doubt the temperature on the inside of a pocket is so different that it would matter one way or the other. I put the cap in my pocket every which way in all variations of temperature and have never seen any difference.

Good for you, Ear ...

Those little things are worth their weight in gold, huh?

Just a buck a piece ...

And new caps can be anywhere from five bucks to 25 bucks ....
