If so, do you use the kind that goes around the lens, or the kind that's attached to a strap lug on your body? ...
If you don't use either kind ... what do you DO with your cap, when you're shooting?

Here's the thing, though, JR ... ALL pockets, eventually, acquire lint (even those with closed flaps) ... so, unawares of the accumulated debris - you shove the cap back on your lens, and - Presto! ... next time you go to use it - you've acquired a deficiency!

How big do they make the slot? I have some big lenses.

Tried a tether that hung off the lens. Drove me crazy with it flapping around. I generally take the lens cap off when I go shooting and put it in my pocket. I don't replace it until I'm done shooting.
I take it off and put it in a pocket. Before I put it back on, I blow on it to make sure there isn't anything riding along for fun.

Don ... it depends on the camera, and the lens I have attached ...
For instance, I will never use a tethered cap on a Macro lens, or any lens which employs any degree of macro capability ...
But, all of my bridges have their caps tethered to the camera strap lugs ... and I use tethered caps on some of my zooms ...
But not the UWA-Zs ... when I'm using a DSLR with a lens without a tethered cap, I just pop it into the bag (mostly Nikons) ...
Then it stays there, till I return to the car ... I only use the bags for transport into and out of the car ... very rarely do I carry a bag ...

Sssssh! Jim ... I haven't acquired the patent on it, yet ....
Here's what I envision ... it would be on the end opposite the battery chamber, obviously ...
And would be open on both front and back ... in order to accommodate any size lens cap ...
And, it would be squeezed in place by an actuator in the slot ... tight enough to hold it for a while ... but easy to pull out, again ....

Hey, Richard!!! ... How ya doing, Mate?
Yeah, but listen ... either, or ... doesn't quite do it for me ...
It's gotta be one or the other ... and pockets are known lint-causers ...
So, for me - if it ain't tethered ... it goes straight into the bag when I take the cam outta the car ...

Put it in a back pocket and when I lose one, I use a spare.
