Nail-On-The-Head!
What is with the log hyphenated phrase!!!
Couldn't you just say "Right" or "Yeah"
"Nail-on-the-Head" almost sounds like a name of a lens!
Of course you could have said "Nail-on-the-Head-16d-aluminum-spiral-shank-flat-head!"

Sorry, sorry! I just did that for Em-Pha-Sis!

The Mazda Miata has different names in different places, too, as do other cars.
Not the only example in the automotive realm. Our 1993 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo was known in Japan as the Fairlady Z or simply Fairlady. It's internal development designation was the Z32 and often if you need parts, using "Z32" is the best way to get the correct item.
By the way, I believe that the rest of the world knows the Miata as the MX-5.

I think the next pro model of Nikon should be called "Bob"
Maybe that would stop everyone from using "Uncle Bob" as an insult to non pros at a wedding.
I shoot weddings, and my name is Bob, so I'm very sensitive........LOL
No worries from me Bob. I always use uncle Fred as I don't have an uncle Fred.
uncle Dennis
I totally agree. When I purchased my Tamron lens, the name of that lens was incredibly long. And there was a similar lens that was for crop cameras ONLY, so I had to be very careful when ordering. Luckily B&H pays attention and they called and asked if I had ordered the correct lens. We must remember that these names are assigned by engineers who have never been known for their common sense!
I think it would be fun to have a camera named Bob! Or Pete!

Gosh. Isn't photography a lot of work?
For years I belonged to the BCA (Buick Club of America) and Buicks had great names: Special, Century (because it would do 100 mph, supposedly), Super, Roadmaster) and easy numbers: (40, 50, 60). Then they started using weird names, like Invicta. What the heck does that mean? C'est la vie.
Gosh. Isn't photography a lot of work?
Yes, but not as much as it used to be. The emphasis has shifted from dark room time to social consensus.

It's perhaps ironic that Tamron is the manufacturer that *does* have short, unique names, such as the A032 for the G2 24-70/2.8, B028 for the new 18-400, and A025 for the G2 70-200/2.8. Funny that people don't seem to find those names very useful.

Thanks. I knew there was more to the joke, but I couldn't find it. I was going to add something about just talking about it, but that did not quite have the kick. "...social consensus" is just right!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA....now that we got that off our chests...

Great idea! What kind of camera should I get?
