30+ years ago I was an active member of the works photography club so I know the basics. Since digital bacame popular I have had a couple of shirt pocket cameras which I have now donated to the lady wife. I knew I wanted something more versitile but the one thing I really knew, was that I didn't want to go down the route of carrying a hundredweight of glass on my shoulder, not anymore. So we make another of life's compromises, mine turned out to be an OLY Stylus 1. With the 1.7x converter lens. I can get from 28mm eq to just over 500mm at a constant 2.8 and the quality is good enough for me. Okay, I can't walk around with an 85mm 1.4 prime stuck on the front end but we make our choices.
