I think you have done very well and have done a very good thing in helping abandoned pets find safe homes. I can understand how difficult it is to photograph animals that are nervous or seek your affection or want to play but I believe the more you do it the more wrinkles you will learn and the easier it will become. I look forward to your doggie shots.

Thank you, EnglishBrenda, for your thoughtful comments. It's a learning experience, and a fun one.

I like them - and cats often won't hold still like dogs will! Many of these photos make the cats very appealing. Well done! Our cat adopted us - some schmuck dropped him off in the woods in the middle of winter with two feet of snow on the ground. Fortunately we found him (he is black - so not too hard to spot in the snow!) before he got eaten.

These are all very nice- excellent job (and thank you) - I like best the eye-contact images... getting the viewer to acknowledge "life" exists within actual animal and with that life is personality and unique qualities extending well beyond simply the "idea" of a cat (or dog or gerbil...)

Thanks, fuminous! I think eye contact is most effective, not always easy to get, but patience helps.

These are great. Why no dogs?

Thanks, Collie lover! I'll do the dogs in another post (after I finish cleaning them up).

Gorgeous portraits! You've done an awesome job of capturing their personalities. Who wouldn't adopt these beauties?

Thanks, Jane! I'm hoping the photos do help them get adopted. That would be a thrill.
