Dianne Nice job! I love the one of Elsa. I also applied and got the job photography animal for our local animal shelter back in 2014. They provided the camera (Nikon) and was very nice giving back as a volunteer. Was great experience. Nice work!

For anyone even remotely thinking of adopting a cat, these shots should win them over. You did a great job!

BTW - how many did you take home?

Thank you, Bill_de! I appreciate your comments. I would have loved to take them all home, but unfortunately I already have a full house.

Thanks, Genessi! It is nice to try to help these homeless animals find a family.

What a beautiful job you did and for such a good cause.

I was asked by a local animal shelter to take some photos of animals to put on line to help with their adoption. We were given a room with fluorescent light, not the optimal, but here's a few that we did. I tried to get down to their level, but it's not easy as they are nervous and mobile, and I'm old and stiff. BIF is a walk in the park compared to these guys. Any tips and C&C would be welcome to help with the next session. Dogs are even harder than cats because they are so starved for attention. I'm only posting cats here. I was asked to do a face shot and body shot. I had to clean dog snot off of my lens several times. I was surprised that 75% of the dogs there are pit bulls or pit bull mixes. I'll post some of them later.

I think you have done very well and have done a very good thing in helping abandoned pets find safe homes. I can understand how difficult it is to photograph animals that are nervous or seek your affection or want to play but I believe the more you do it the more wrinkles you will learn and the easier it will become. I look forward to your doggie shots.

These are all very nice- excellent job (and thank you) - I like best the eye-contact images... getting the viewer to acknowledge "life" exists within actual animal and with that life is personality and unique qualities extending well beyond simply the "idea" of a cat (or dog or gerbil...)

I loved them all, but Zepplin's are my favorites.
