Maybe not but there still must be a finite number for each model.
Yes I'll bet there is, but as I said, I'll bet a Canikon engineer couldn't answer that!!
There would be every combinational possible, THEN, set EC and start over again, then add picture style etc., and on and on!!!
I think that's why every manufacturer makes a little green square on the dial, so even a Pro won't go insane trying to think about possible "permutations"!!!
Probably tens of thousands!!!
Good rainy day project for some of these old, retired, bored Hogs!!!

It all comes down to the exposure triangle. There are lots of ways to get the photo, but the basics have not changed.

With all the possible settings on a high end camera does anyone know the number of permutations available on a Canon 7d or 5d or equivalent Nikon models.
You add them all up and that's the price of the camera. It's not the amount of permutations on the camera that counts, it's the skill and training in the photographer that counts.
I thought "the answer" was 42.

It would take a lot of time and a lot of calculating to get that answer. Then what?
1...cause you can only take one image at a time.

I'm not sure you know what a permutation is!!! LoL

It's a skin blemish isn't it?

Does anybody really care?

If a tree falls in the forest, and you're not there to take a picture of it, does the beaver still smile?
This is like monks arguing over how many angels can fit on the head of a pin. There are so many menu settings that you may never try every combination... nor need to!

Oh that useless triangle?

I remember hearing that a certain American car company could crank out cars all year and not produce two that were identical in specs.

It's simple to calculate, BUT, and that is a big one. Most modern cameras have settings in 1/3 stop increments so you would to count the number of possible settings for each of ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. You will now have three numbers, multiply the first one times the second one and multiply that result by the third one and you answer is the answer. Back to that BUT. This includes only exposure, if you want to add color temperature and photo settings like "vivid" then search your camera manual and count the number of possible settings for each of the items you would like to include and when you have that list of numbers keep that multiplication chain going. This, by the way, is calculating the possible permutations. And this all assumes my memory is correct on "how to calculate permutations".
