Hence my question to define "best".
Which model would you want to take for landscape shooting on a rainy day?

This is the reason for this post. I am trying to point out what a crap snapsort.com is of a website. I have done it a few times before here but still I see people referring to this website almost every day. Now I am just hoping that some of those people will look at this topic and the link to Canon on snapsort.com to figure out what useless, incorrect and misleading info that website is providing. I am just trying to help people here on UHH by informing them of bad information. But to do that I first have to get attention 8-)

So ...... I walked straight into your trap to make the exact point you wanted made?

:-) Hey, well done! Great fishing!!

You are attempting to sidestep the point I am making.
You asked about Canons.
"Best" is relative to use and requirements.
Not much point paying for a camera that gets more points because it does 10 fps if you don't need that criteria.
Not much point buying a camera because website CameraAdvertisingSite rates it highly for its swivel screen if its images are crap etc etc.

Well, this is all kind of a sidestep. I am just trying to draw attention to the fact that snapsort.com is a crap website. There fore I am linking to their rating of Canon cameras.

Hi and thanks for your participation here. Unfortunately you have misread my post. It is the 700 D I am talking about, not some low score baby cameras like the 7DmkII :-D

Sorry, I have NO idea what a 700 is! ;-)

No, I am just trying to make people think before they write here. Too many around here are referring to a website they have no clue about how bad info it is providing. I am just trying to wake them up and keep others alert. It is kind of serious thing when we here on UHH are giving advice to people new in photography about cameras and part of that advice is recommending cameras based on the score on snapsort.com. People who do that are plain lucky if they are not wasting the newbies time and money.

Well, it is hard to believe that the EOS 700D is not the best Canon camera. If we look up Canon cameras here on snapsort.com which many members on UHH refer to when discussing cameras. The 700D has the highest score of all Canon cameras. 5D Mark III is also good but 6D is better. Canon 1D X does not make it to the top 10 Canon cameras today.

See for yourself here http://snapsort.com/explore/best-digital-cameras/Canon/48-months-recent

And who shall I belive, a good looking website like snapsort.com or fellow hoggers who all the time disagree about which is better, Canon or Nikon etc??? ;)

Define score. You just called snapsort.com complete BS yourself. Did you see that the SX50-HS outscores a 7DmkII? Of course you did, you wrote the post and now you are referencing snapsort.com in a different thread.

On more thing to mention regarding the bullshit on the internet. There are lot of websites ranking cameras or recommending them. One of and maybe the worst of them all is snapsort.com Do never let scores or ranking on this site get involved in your decision when you are looking for a new camera. Jim D was mentioning the Canon 7D and 7D MII. I can tell you all that according to snapsort.com the Canon SX50 is a much better camera than both versions of the Canon 7D. Just have a look here

On the plus side snapsort.com does have an explicit methodology for comparing cameras, although I'm not sure how valid it is.

However, I think I found out why the 7D MK II scored so badly. It appears the snapsort.com people weren't smart enough to put a lens on the body, so it didn't get any credits in the lens section, and one assumes wouldn't take pictures as well as the SX50-HS in the test.

Impressive, I wonder if they can walk and chew gum simultaneously!

There really is no cure for stupid.

So, your post may not be pure BS, but there is some kind of mammal excrement involved. Possibly a whale in this case!

Just waiting for Canon to come up with A wimpy 36mp FF camera😄. But if it has to be Canon I would take the 5D mark III for landscape in the rain.

Yes, you still are a troll, but now that you have explained yourself I will agree that your motives seem a bit better then most. Never visited snapsort.com so I can't get into the debate over it's merits.

But isn't that an old camera?

Ok, now you need to define old as well as best.

The best camera is the one that allows you to make the photographs you want.
