I have been wondering what Canon camera is the best I can buy today if money is not an issue. There is some evidence it might be the EOS 700D. Am I right about that?

Define "best".

Low light performance,
Color depth,
Dynamic range,
Cross type focus points,
Shutter lag,
Viewfinder size,
Screen resolution,
Image stabilization,
FPS,
Lens availability,
Etc,

you know what I mean, all those things that matter for a overall use very good camera.

Probably the 5D Mark III.

Depends on what you want in a camera:
EOS-1D X if you shoot sports (12 fps)
EOS 5D Mark III for low light and landscape (22mp 25600 ISO)
PowerShot D30 (water, shock, and freeze resistant)
PowerShot SX60 HS (super zoom) 35mm film equivalent: 21-1365mm)
PowerShot A2500 Silver (under 4 oz)
PowerShot A1400 (under $100)

No. late 2012 vintage or thereabouts, I think. It's their newest full frame body, in the mid $3000's, after the 6D which I think is just a few months "newer". The 1DX, which is the top of the line Canon Full-Frame, is just under $7,000 or so, I think. And to completely answer your original question, the best Canon body, money no object, is by no means the 700D.

Well, it is hard to believe that the EOS 700D is not the best Canon camera. If we look up Canon cameras here on snapsort.com which many members on UHH refer to when discussing cameras. The 700D has the highest score of all Canon cameras. 5D Mark III is also good but 6D is better. Canon 1D X does not make it to the top 10 Canon cameras today.

See for yourself here http://snapsort.com/explore/best-digital-cameras/Canon/48-months-recent

And who shall I belive, a good looking website like snapsort.com or fellow hoggers who all the time disagree about which is better, Canon or Nikon etc??? ;)

Hence my question to define "best".
Which model would you want to take for landscape shooting on a rainy day?

You, and more accurately, Snapsort, are confusing "popular" with "best". The Canon Rebel series is their entry-level, beginning-consumer body, and while a hell of a camera for the money, is by no means the most 'feature-packed' or containing the most necessary features for a professional photographer to use. So "best" here is like saying the Toyota Camry is the 'best' car in the world. People who own M-Bs or Rolls-Royces might have a quibble with that.

You are attempting to sidestep the point I am making.
You asked about Canons.
"Best" is relative to use and requirements.
Not much point paying for a camera that gets more points because it does 10 fps if you don't need that criteria.
Not much point buying a camera because website CameraAdvertisingSite rates it highly for its swivel screen if its images are crap etc etc.

At this point in time, if I could only have one Canon it would be the 7Dmkll.
Yes, over the 5lll and 1Dx.
There is NOTHING the 70d does better!!!
Unless you are downloading directly from shot to Facebook. The 70d does THAT better!

This is the reason for this post. I am trying to point out what a crap snapsort.com is of a website. I have done it a few times before here but still I see people referring to this website almost every day. Now I am just hoping that some of those people will look at this topic and the link to Canon on snapsort.com to figure out what useless, incorrect and misleading info that website is providing. I am just trying to help people here on UHH by informing them of bad information. But to do that I first have to get attention 8-)

Hi and thanks for your participation here. Unfortunately you have misread my post. It is the 700 D I am talking about, not some low score baby cameras like the 7DmkII :-D
