Just wondering what type of shooting most photogs do here on the forum and with what type of gear you use.

I have just gotten back into photography as a serious hobby about a year ago. I really like nature as a preferred subject, but will take a shot of just about anything anywhere that won't get me arrested. I need the practice! I don't do macro -yet!
Right now I have a Sony DSC HX50V as a point shoot - doesn't get much use ; new Canon SX50 HS as a less cumbersome, longer zoom alternate for my baby - my Nikon D5200. To go with the D5200 I have an 18-105 zoom and a 55-300 zoom. I have ordered the Tamron 150-600 and can't wait to get it. When I bought the 5200, I had planned to add a prime lens or 2 and am thinking about what to get. But first, I have to decide what I might need it for. That being said, I have developed a severe case of G.A.S. since joining the UHH. I thought maybe I would upgrade to a D7100 or its successor in a couple of years or so. Then I started to want the 800, now I want the 800e. I'll have to just want the 800e for a while longer. Maybe I need to get off this forum. Naaah - learning way too much here.

Are you married? If so does she know about this? Does she approve? Most important, though, is she one of the women you shoot? think carefully before answering this part of the question, with special attention given to the wording of your response quoted above!

I'll shoot anything that has a shutter or a trigger - depending on my mood!

Nature mostly, lots of birds, grandkids and their sports. I use Nikon D300 and Nikon D7100, Sigma 50-500, Sigma Macro plus Sigma ringflash. I do enjoy macro, insects.

I think my theme might be best described as zombie apocalypse... weeds, industrial subjects, railroad.

And macro. Nikon D3200 w/kit zooms (18-55 and 55-200), and 40mm macro 1:1

I shoot mostly landscapes and portraits. Did weddings for years with film equipment and large format. Now I do it for myself. I use Nikon equipment, mostly full sensor cameras and shoot in RAW. I have several lenses but favor the 24-70mm 2.8 and the 16-35mm lenses. Occasionally I'll throw on the 28-300mm. I've used various photo programs for post processing but I mainly use Mac's Aperture. I switched to Mac's recently. I don't like to spend a lot of time on the computer processing pics so I try to get everything I need in the shot itself. Just got a Sony NEX 7 camera and it has performed admirably when I don't want to carry a lot of heavy stuff around.

I mostly shoot nature from landscapes to birds. I especially like sunsets and sunrises and all types of bird photography. I also, but to a lesser degree, like to shoot macro nature subjects such as insects and flowers.
I own mostly Canon equipment including 50D, 7D, 10-24mm Tamron, 24-70L, 100-400L, 100mmL macro and 400mm f 2.8. Also a 1.4 and 2X tele-convertors, tripods and monopods and a 580EX flash. I think that about covers it except for the multitude of other gadgets and doodads that end up in the closet.
All this being said, I would prefer to shoot what Sharpshooter shoots.
