About user:
Occupaion: not set Interests: Landscape Photography Biography: Craig was born and raised in Northeast Florida but has called the Midwest his home for over the last 30 years. He currently resides with his wife a few miles east of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Craig acquired a used Petri 35mm camera and access to a dark room in the early 1970’s. It was not long before he developed an ever increasing passion for photography as a means of creative expression. Over the years he has worked in 35mm, 645 and 6x7 medium format, as well as 4x5 large format mediums. With the recent rapid advances in digital technology, he now exclusively works with 35mm digital capture.
Largely self taught, Craig was influenced by black and white icons Ansel Adams, Brett Weston and color icons Elliot Porter, and later Mark Muench and Art Wolfe.
While in recent years he has developed a strong interest in the western landscapes, he feels that overall the United States is blessed with some of the most diverse and beautiful landscape in the world, which he feels is truly a national treasure. Craig states there is something powerfully spiritual and revitalizing about the wilderness which anyone can appreciate, if only they take the time. Through the use of light and form Craig connects with our natural environment and attempts to convey the importance of preserving a precious national treasure. Increased awareness leads to increased appreciation and ultimately preservation. Website: www.craigmccordphotography.com
