OBJECTIVE: Buy / Assemble / Setup: A cross platform add on system (Hardware and Software) that will allow me to operate (full function and control) digital cameras (see mine below) VIA WI-FI. Looking for camera connected device (WI-FI) TO / PLUS hand held LCD Android device for wireless remote control and transfer. Real time / live view.
Any ideas????
Sorry about all the details. I have learned; from reading this forum; that many of you will ask detail questions. I am just anticipating some of those. This is a compliment to all of you.
Me: Old guy, retired. Been a photog for 60 years. My Dad was in Public Relations for the US Navy and indulged / encouraged me in Photography – had a dark room in the house when I was 10. Have some contest recognition; but, found other ways to make a steady living. Did get paid once – was the staff photographer for the Wigwam in Litchfield Park, AZ in 1964. Still have all the 4X5 negatives.
MY Cameras: Canon 50D; 30D; 5G; (common: batteries – Memory cards – Speed lights – Lenses {except 5G}; accessory connections etc. Quality and $$ drives the train!) Plus, Sony SLT-35; Fuji X-S1. Let’s think / work out of the box! Older film stuff goes back to the 50’s and 60’s: When, in the Navy, flying into Hong Kong; I bought All of Everything Ashi Pentax Spotmatic, What’s a 22 year old sailor going to do with his money? I use the Pentax lenses on the 30 and 50D with adapters (another thread subject) Also some real old collection stuff – Kodak’s’; some back to the early 1900’s and a working 4X5 Speed Graphic (I now use as a Pin Hole camera) There are some 60’s Canon, Minolta, and some Yashica (35MM, TLR ) stuff as well. Video – another thread. To you Nikon people: I don’t buy Cadillac’s; used to buy Oldsmobile’s (same car) NOW buy Toyotas (Yea, American issue- another thread!) Sold my 57 Chevy PU to buy Photo gear! Same Functionality! (Quality $$) Give the Nikon input anyway; others will be interested.
MY Computers / Devices: All PC’s (windows – XP through 8): Lap; Desk. Networked; hard wired via router + wireless. Amazon Kindle Fire. Everything integrated into home entertainment system (HD TV) both wired and wireless. Computers going back to TRS 80’s and PC’s with MSDOS. Don’t you love the LEARNING curve??
MY Photo PP Software: Adobe (Various) plus other(s) just for fun! PP is as much of a challenge as a Dark Room!
MY Cell Phone: Current with Verizon; voice only. Am thinking Samsung Galaxy smart phone upgrade. I’ m chocking on the Data plan cost increase! Maybe move to ATT? Amazon Fire connection? Don’t care about text or WEB! ANY OTHER IDEAS ? ? ?
