Thanks. I used my Olympus 14-150 at full zoom from a second story window across the back yard.

I did not realize I took a selfie until after I'd processed the photo and enlarged it. I look good but then, so does the owl.

I found a folder on my computer labeled "My best photos". I looked through them and pulled out 10 of my favorites from the whole folder. It's interesting that none of the photos were of surfers or the waves!
Each one is different and unique from the others in this series. Of course they all look better in download mode!

Great photos! The lighting in the doorway of #10 makes it look like a portal to somewhere else.

Good afternoon, I recently returned to photography from a very long absence; we're talking almost 30 years. I am currently using a Lumix GX85, micro 4/3.

My main interests are outdoor, mainly landscape, some wildlife, and still life, some macro. I am wanting to try night sky photography. Due to my budget, I only have kit lenses at this point. I would appreciate any advice, tips, tricks, etc.

Thank you.

Welcome. I’m just starting out myself and only have kit lenses as well. The best advice I’ve received is to just take as many pictures as possible and practice your technique. You can get great pictures with the kit lens. The most important thing is to have fun.
How do you like the Pany? I was between that and the Olympus omd em10 iii. I decided on the Oly and love it. I love the micro 4/3 size and got it for traveling. What lenses did you get?

There is a Meet Up group, Chester County Photo Walks, which might be in your area. Meets about once a month. This one is in West Chester.

That’s not too far from me. I’ll look into it. Thanks!

The more you take, the more you might lose.
The 14-140 lens sounds reasonable, cover many situations, depending on the Aperture range of this Lens. I am guessing it is Not a really "Fast" Lens. So, if true you must compensate with Higher ISO, a Lower Shutter-Speed, or a combination of both. Other's here may add to my suggestions and advice.
You might consider a 50mm Prime lens for your camera.

It's definitely not a fast lens. I got it mostly so I could travel light when I'm walking around the different locations on our trip. It has good range so I won't have to change lenses. I'll practice with the compensation before we leave so I'm ready. Getting a good Prime is on the list when the budget allows. Thanks for the advice!

Hi all. My name is Jim and I’m pretty new to photography. My wife and I are taking a cruise to see the fjords in Norway this summer so I wanted to learn some new photography skills to better capture the memories. I recently purchased an Olympus OMD EM10 MK3, 14-42 kit lens, 40-150 kit, and also 14-150 zoom (kit). I’ve been using the zoom for the majority of my pictures as I don’t have to swap lenses out when walking around. I’m really excited to learn more and have been enjoying trying out different techniques. Would love to meet up with anyone in the region for some photography shoots! :)

Here are some pictures from some recent trips to Gettysburg, Maine, and Washington D.C.:
