Thanks for the kind words. I made the switch to Sony last year after shooting Canon for most of my life. I do feel that the Sony does have better dynamic range than what I was getting with my Canons. The extra pixels aren't bad either. There are a few more sports images on my website if you are interested. lancesimkins.com/sports

I don't understand how it works or why but like others have said, your best bet is to get as close to the netting or fence as possible. It seems to work better with longer focal lengths as opposed to wide angles and use the shallowest depth of field possible. The netting or chain link fence magically disappears. Make sure you have your lens hood on so you don't scratch your glass. This photo was taken through a chainlink fence.

If you are interested in staying with a tablet the iPad Pro is pretty impressive and very versatile. My friend uses the apple pen to do his editing and can do things that I can't do on my laptop. Just giving you something else to consider. https://www.apple.com/ipad-pro/

I think it depends on how many calendars you want to make. If you are just getting a few I would probably do them locally at Costco or similar. If you are getting more than 20 or so I would recommend Vistaprint. We get about 100 calendars from them at a time and the quality is good and the pricing is very reasonable if you take advantage of their promos.

I had that issue several times when shooting sports specifically football, baseball, and softball. Thats when I learned that it only happens when shooting in silent mode.

There have been some great suggestions here. The only thing I would add is if you plan on using an external hard drive get something that has thunderbolt ports. I was amazed at how much faster the data transfer is.
