My first reply on this forum and it's not a comment on the wonderful photograph of a beautiful woman. I was a nurse anesthetist and administered anesthesia for many trauma patients and it's unconscionable that Deborah experienced this during her care, but think it had more to do with the surgeon than the anesthesiologist or nurse anesthetist. I'm thankful that she has done so well.

Kathy, I am familiar with the White Pocket landscape and, honestly, this photo just doesn't represent it that well. The foreground hints at the remarkable sandstone features of the area, but it is too dark to really capture your attention. The background attracts your eye because it's lit up some, but there is just not enough out there to sustain your interest. I hope this gives you something to think about next time.

Terrific captures of a variety of creatures.

I have lived in southern Utah for over 30 years, 20 of them in Kanab. I've guided with Dreamland Safari and other tour groups and know that David Swindler is an excellent photographer and would be a good choice for a photo tour. The GSENM has thankfully been restored to it's original size by President Biden and is a huge diversified landscape, so it would be wise to decide what subjects and areas you are interested in to make the best use of your time. Late September and October would be your best time of year. We have had abnormally high winds (even for spring) and higher summer temps forecasted with unlikely monsoons. Waterways very low with drought not seen in 1200 years.

If you're not there at the right time and right place, more so than most places, you will contend with shadows that present contrast problems. You, obviously, successfully dealt with that challenge. Good job!
