I have a friend who sells photography LOTS in tent shows. (If we're in the same show, I'll make $50 and she makes $500!) She was looking at my White Pocket pictures the other day and hit on this one, claiming it would sell. I'm on the fence - and it certainly isn't my favorite. What do y'all think of it?

Kathy, I love the color, composition and contrast but...., you may want to eliminate the sensor dust spots in the sky before offering it for sale.

my only real issue with this picture is the power lines running through the middle of the composition. Otherwise it is a good picture. Will it sell? It seems to me that buyers are a fickle bunch and what they are likely to spend money on is never predictable.

Yes, of course I would do that. I simply did a quick and easy develop in LR. Thanks.

Funny. Because I wasn't taken with the image, I hadn't noticed the transmission line! Thanks for pointing it out. Buyers are a fickle bunch and don't buy even when they claim they love something. Thanks for weighing in on the image.

I like the photo, but I assume you will be selling it as a print. Because the light on a print is reflected off the front rather than transmitted through the image as it is on a screen, the colors won't show as well. Overall, the photo doesn't seem to have a lot of contrast as it is here (excluding the sky which is not really the subject). I suggest running a "Dehaze" in PS and increase the Clarity and maybe Saturation, then send it out locally to make a small test print and see how that looks before you invest in a big one.

Thank you. I haven't printed a test yet because I'm waiting on an ink shipment. I took the clarity down a lot from where I did have it. I'll look at running it back up some. My LR is old, so I don't have the dehaze option. Maybe some contrast?

Your image isn't grabbing me but that's just my subjective opinion. As far as your friends images, what is selling? Are those types of images consisting selling at the shows? Study your friends images that are selling and you might have your answer.

What is great about this shot is the depth implied by the multiple horizontal dark light features, the subject is less compelling

My images are quite different from hers. But I do know she has an uncanny sense of looking at a scene and knowing whether or not it will sell. We shoot together a lot. The image doesn't grab me, either! Thanks for tuning in.

That was what she pointed out. I don't like the subject, particularly, either. Thanks.
