Depends on what kind of photography you're interested in, but honestly the difference between the new cameras is so subtle that there are no bad choices anymore. Some gear is better for certain things.

You're all welcome to your own opinions, just as I have mine. I don't need anyone to agree with me to know that jingoism isn't the same as patriotism. Also people that feel America has a lot of work to do doesn't need to "get out of the country if..." There is no one who is qualified to say who is more American and no one has the ability to make a determination about the sorts of thought that do or don't belong. No amount of thumbs up change that.

John Adams said "We are a government of laws not of men".

I think lots of people are just gear collectors. Pretty common in the music scene too.

I considered mirrorless just because of the Canon glass available, reconsidered instantly after handling them all.

If people spent as much time reaserching photography as they do cameras they pictures would be better. Ijs.

Why not just adapt your existing glass?

You'd be better off renting if it's a once in a lifetime. It's unrealistic to buy a single light for $2,000 dollars without a modifier. Plenty of pros are shooting with systems 1/4 of the price.

I'm running a Flashpoint R2 Pro MarkII 2.4GHz Transmitter with a Flashpoint XPLOR 600PRO TTL without issue using Eneloops. For those who don't know the Flashpoint is a rebranded Godox for Adorama. I'd recommend the Adorama because of in house warranty work.

My personal opinion is that you only really know gear that you use often so renting doesn't work that well for me. I have to own it, shoot with it a dozen times to learn it's character.

To each their own.

I bet people said this when they patented a 28-70 f2 lens too.

Their engineers spend a lot of time designing lenses, they don't have resources to pay them to do that for fun anymore.

Canon designed a lens, I laid out reasons why I believe they did it with the intent of producing the lens, what's your question?

"I am not going to stand up to show p***e in a f**g for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told NFL Mediaafter Friday’s game.

“To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

So you got hatred out of that. Ok.

Godox systems are great for unchallenging environments but they prove to show their seems in tough circumstances. If you're shooting a high paying once in a lifetime event invest in the Prophoto stuff, if you're a hobbeist taking pictures for fun Godox works great 90% of the time for less than 1/3rd the money.

So you think that with the camera industry dividing itself each year Canon is paying their engineers to design lenses it doesn't want to produce?

I don't follow. Maybe in the past when cameras were the only way people could take first day of school pictures but not now. I think you're confusing what the camera industry was and what it is.

It's amazing to me that we have a camera company creating lenses that we could only dream about when we all started and now we find ways to complain that they're too expensive or too heavy or too whatever.

If you want small and light why don't you just go with micro 4/3rds?

If you want cheaper and lighter and think super wide lenses are a waste of money buy the 85 1.8? Small, light, cheap!

I can't understand it. Why would any photography enthusiast be upset by innovation? Maybe it's just the internet being the internet, don't mind me.
