Aloha UHHs,
I was about to press the purchase button for the Canon R5. But, I got cold feet after reading some of the reviews they were experiencing on Canon's website. Rating for this camera looks like a C+. For those who owns the R5, are you currently having or had issues with the camera itself? Is there a concern that I should be aware of?
This purchase would have been my last upgrade from my Mark 5DII, and I'd be taking it on my upcoming international travel.
My second choice might be the R7.

Thanks for checking. I understand why you would want more information prior to making the investment. My R5 has been and continues to be an amazing camera. I wish you the best on making your decision.
Na Pali Cliffs from either boat or walking up the Kalalau Trail for about one mile. Spectacular! Waterfalls(take your pick) everywhere. Secret Beach and it’s lighthouse. The very last stop going up the road to Waimea Canyon. There you will find the most stunning view in the entire Pacific Ocean looking out from the backside of the Na Pali cliffs. Macros of flowers. Wildlife(chickens) all over.
Visit the home of Frida Kahlo. Her home is located in a lovely district of Mexico City. Frida was a brilliant artist. I believe her husband, Diego Rivera, another famous artist, also resided there. The architecture of the home, both inside and out, is quite unique.
First, we mere mortals tend to learn through our mistakes and failures. Learn to thrive on your mistakes and failures. Second, try to find the sweet spot between all of the learning modules(books, videos, other venues) and actually utilizing/practicing with your camera and lenses. Third, and in order to stay energetic and passionate about photography, find and sustain what inspires you whether that be the brilliant photos of others, appreciating what you have done well, or just allowing the emotions of time to merge with the thoughts of eternity.
Is there an update on the Canon R6 firmware? Thanks
Photography is a form of art. And for me, the high mission of art is to foreshadow a higher universe reality, and to crystallize the emotions of time into the thoughts of eternity. I appreciate any form of art that can assist in my own personal transcendence from the mere material to the spiritual and from time to the timeless.
Thank you for taking the time to respond! Any bit of information helps and sometimes the trends and patterns of answers can be very telling.
Yes, I meant Rokinon. Thank you! That helps.
Thank you! And I did mean Rokinon.
I recently purchased a Ronikon autofocus 14mm 2.8 for my Canon R6 to be utilized for landscape Astrophotography. I am struggling on how to focus the Ronikon. Should I keep it in autofocus or manual focus? And if I am in manual focus, how do I determine when I am best focused? Still very much in a long learning curve. Thanks. mike
I googled your question and found several “how to” videos.
