I like my LowPro Sling for easy access. I have a number of camera bags and I prefer this one.

I'm curious as to how you got this shot? Settings, lens, etc. It looks painterly. Very cool shot.

Just a thought- how about RT 66 West and the northern route back home,? Awesome trip.

However you go, have a ball and recover.

White Pocket, Kanab, UT, is a great alternative to "The Wave" since it is difficult to get a permit. Also Antelope Canyon, Page AZ is awesome; both upper and lower.

If you are interested "White Pocket" out of Kanab is a great opportunity rather than "The Wave." You would need to book a tour though and it is usually all day. There are a few tour companies in Kanab. Google pictures of it. If you don't plan on doing this trip again I would highly recommend it. It is a big time commitment when you have so many fabulous places you are going.

My wife and I are heading out of Chicago to La Junta, Colorado on the Southwest Chief on an 18 hour train ride. We’ll be chasing a setting sun as we head west...in theory it sounds like it could a fun trip with Photo opps...unfortunately, from the observation car a person needs to be shooting through windows and train cars are constantly moving. Any suggestions on how to best minimize the obvious challenges?

I just went on a European bus tour. I was amazed at how many good shots I got through the window. Make sure you get a window without any major spots on it then your main concern will be reflection. Just try to angle your camera the best way possible to minimize the reflection. Also you will struggle with which side of the train will have the best views. If possible try to get a spot that has empty seats on the opposite side of the train so you can move when a photography opportunity presents itself. Good luck.

I googled "How do I calibrate color space in Photoshop" and I followed the instructions and IT WORKED! I now can "Save As" and save as a TIFF and it comes out great! Thank you Thank you for your patience in working through this problem. I really appreciate it. I have been questioning this problem for many years. I just didn't know what to call the "color space" problem.

Are you saying it is just how the viewer is showing it? I tried printing it and it still comes out grey. Can you tell me what selections to choose when "Exporting" to fix this? I may not be understanding what you are telling me.

Actually Lightroom isn't the problem here. Lightroom is a great program and if I had to give up either Lightroom or Photoshop I would give up Photoshop. I do love both though.

I was told to use the "Export" when I am going from Photoshop to a file and that seems to work except on the Quick Save only allows for JPEG. Is Export and Quick Save my only options to save a file in Photoshop without getting the color cast?

Thank you for all the time you put into this post. I do all of the steps you have described above. The problem occurs "sometimes" when I have done multiple edits in photoshop and I want to save different versions of the edits back to Lightroom the "Save" button will grey out and I then have to save it to a folder rather than back to Lightroom or I would lose the edit. I use the "save as" and it goes to a designated file but the picture is "grey." I have been trying to save examples of the pictures to this site and it looked like it worked because it showed up but as I look through the posts it doesn't look like it is there. The file size is appropriate to the site so I am not sure what is happening. I will try again now.
