The newest version of Canon's LP-E6 battery is the LP-E6NH, which sells for $79.99 at B&H, $10 more than the LP-E6N. It is rated at 2130mAh, 7.2 volts.

One of my Canons is a 70D. Since it is 100% compatible with the newer Canon Speedlites (430EX III-RT and the 600EX II-RT) the 80D, and 90D are also 100% compatible with these Speedlites. The Speedlites can be controlled from the cameras LCD screen when either of these Speedlites are attached to the cameras hot shoe. ETTL, Manual, 2nd curtain, HS sync, Flash exposure compensation and Off, can all be set or changed on the camera's LCD screen or on the Speedlites. Both the 430EXIII-RT and the 600EXII-RT have internal radio transceivers, but will also work using the optical line-of-site system used by older Speedlite models. The 430EXIII-RT head can be zoomed from 24mm to 105mm. The 600EXII-RT can zoom from 20mm-200mm. The 430EXIII-RT does not have a socket for attachment of an external battery pack. An excellent video that explains Canon Speedlites:

Other way around. My Canon APS-C body has red and white dots. Look at an front image of a 5D without a lens, it only has a red dot.

My APS-C LENS only has a white dot.
My 50mm EF only has a red dot.

You are correct (I should have done a better job of proof reading my comment before posting it)..
The lens mount on APS-C camera body has both a RED dot and a WHITE dot. The APS-C lenses have only a WHITE dot. EF lenses have only a RED dot, as do the lens mounts on Full Frame camera bodies. EF lenses are not to be used on APS-C camera bodies.

According to Canon, EF lenses can be used on both Full Frame and APS-C camera bodies. An EF-S lens can only be used on an APS-C body. Placing, or attempting to place, an EF-S lens on a Full Frame body will damage the mirror, making it unusable.

The mount on an EF lens has a RED dot, and a WHITE dot, to align the lens to the corresponding dot on the camera body when mounting. EF-S camera lenses have only a WHITE dot

The lens mount on Full Frame bodies have both a RED dot and a WHITE dot, which are used to align a lens when mounting. The lens mount on an APS-C body has only a WHITE dot.

If you are using a Canon camera and a Canon Speedlite, the solution is simple. Turn on High Speed Sync on the Speedlite. According to Syl Arena, photographer and Speedlite guru (in several B&H videos on YouTube), if HSS is left on all of the time, the Speedlite will operate normally at all shutter speeds at or below the camera's sync speed. At a shutter speed above the sync speed it will fire in HSS mode.

I use an inexpensive ball head and a metal cold shoe for the Speedlite, or a metal umbrella adapter. Either option works for me because my Canon Speedlites have built-in radio control.
