That's one reason I like to stay with basic black even though I don't buy a camera with the idea of reselling it. Although I have seen some sharp looking cameras in gunmetal.

CJ....Just remember....Basic Black will keep your camera looking thinner. Just watch for the dandruff around the shutter button.

On a personal note. Wore my Steeler's shirt to Cardiac Rehab this morning. Upset a couple Bear's fans.

WOW, I sold my motorcycle yesterday, ordered my new Lens (Refurbished) Canon 17-40mm f/4-5.6 Ultra-Wide angle at around 2:30 pm. Just saw tracking info and it will arrive today :) unbelievable. This is for my new Canon 6D. This is really getting better for me seeing I just had a massive heart attack on 8/12/13 & open heart surgery on 8/14/13 with a quadruple by-pass surgery. Hoping to be back full swing at the end of October for new Job I just obtained in July. WOW I guess he had better plans for me.

I'm sure you will love the lens.

Welcome to the Zipper Club. I'm 12 years post triple, 3 years post stints (3), on my second Pacemaker/ICD and still go to Cardiac ReHURT three times a week. Photography (returned after a long layoff) has been a great additional cardio workout for me. Find a park with numerous places where you can sit for awhile (mine is a Japanese Garden) because you will find that you get winded rather easily. Shoot the park from every angle that you can, then find another place to do the same. Listen to your Docs and take your meds. We want you posting here for the next 50 years.

As long as nothing was written over it, the data is still there. Check your PM's.

Hello, I was wondering if there's anyone out there that has attempted large format ( 2' by 4' at least...) developing, printing on metal with liquid light ? Is it possible? Or is there a better alternative ? Thank you.

Welcome to the Hog SThompson. Can't help with your question but hopefully others will be able to. Having done some tintype in class many years ago, it sounds interesting.

Thanks JR. Thought for a moment that someone had figured out liquid sunshine and that could be a REALLY hot item.

Well, knowing where Jamestown is (a Yinzer myself) that would be known as 'Punk'. It is a fungus that grows on the sides of trees (commonly in Western PA, don't know about elsewhere) and we used to use dry punk to light our fireworks with. You would light the dried punk, which would keep an ember for hours upon hours. Therefore you could set off those Ohio purchased firecrackers in Conneaut Lake, PA

That would work much better on a gimbal. I use one all the time. Gimbal is much faster finding the bird. I use a blind all the time and tried just about everything.

A gimbal is on my shopping list Bill, but it is hard to justify when you don't use the tripod that often. I prefer to hand hold and use natural light even though I have both tripod and flash. My issue with the wasted shots were more like those below.

Although the hummer will use EXACTLY the same twig, it doesn't necessarily present himself to you, the light is wrong for his bright ruby iridescent gorget to show, or he decides to do the Hokey Pokey just as you pop the shutter.

Wonderful images, really enjoyed them Al.

Thanks Linda. We feed and enjoy them all, but my favorites are at the extremes in size.,... The Common Loon (from up your way) and the Hummer. Both are migratory so the photo-shooting is short. Then when you get benched for an injury, it makes for long winters. :(

Thanks...

I kept wondering what I was going to do if he flew in the open window. Do I try to get a BIF shot before opening the door ???

Very nice captures Bret. Very elusive aren't they?

For info, they will take on small bugs for the protein. Ours up here are already bulking-up for the flight south.

Good captures - Hope you are soon up and about - get well soon.

Thank you, and thank you.... I am discovering that the older you get, the longer it takes to mend. But then, considering the alternative, I'll take the slow healing.

Very nice!

If you zoom all the way into the eye in the third pic what's it looking at? Looks kind of like a feeder?

Thank you. Yes, there is a feeder suspended in front of the other front window. It is about 2 feet from where he perches and my lens was about another foot further.
