Computers with AI will always exceed us in repetitive tasks or those requiring large data bases (Watson on Jeopardy for instance)- But the only way to develop creativity is to put in some sort of random generator with a testing program- but that will be random and very unlikely to create anything new.

I suggest you look up the computer called Eugene...doing a heck of a lot more than repetetive tasking.

They are starting to learn on their own now.

Just like toddlers...they get instructions from their parents...but at some point...they create their own.

Same thing is happening with computers...and especially quantum computers.

They are...growing up.

They are called sun dogs...fairly common if you are an outside person.

For one thing...we'd all need much bigger boards.

I believe there is a bias for humans when regarding a computer.

Can an Octopus think? Most folks would say yes.
A computer can match an octopus...yet...we don't want to give it the same regard as the Octopus.

The computer Eugene seems to have passed the Turing test...and if it doesn't...other will soon enough.
The advancement of computers is not linear...computers will surpass us at some point.

I have some GM lenses...worth every penny.

Surprisingly, I also have the Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 zoom...and I concur...fantastic lens. Hack tip...I get FF performance at 35mm with it...it covers the sensor at 35mm...so it's a hybrid by accident.

Just use a power bank...I have one that throws out 65watts...not an issue...for field work.

Yeah, I saw the Retro Senior on Northrup's YouTube channel and it certainly has the cool factor, but the non-removable proprietary battery didn't fit my needs. I guess you run out of juice you're done till you recharge?

All flashes run on batteries...either external or internal. All internal non removable are not what I would call proprietary...just an internal battery.

I doubt you could run the battery down in a single shoot...unless you don't know what you are doing (almost all mistakes are human error). I always travel with a power bank. You can charge it and shoot at the same time...cannot foresee someone getting into that kind of a bind.

To each his own, but that new Godox lacks for nothing...

I'd take a look at the new Lux Master Retro by Godox. And their new wireless commander...

I have the Godox Senior...and the Cadet...sent to me as promotional items...the senior is fantastic.

This new one looks awesome and is totally modern.

I have been sent the wireless commander to review...will be here any day...I expect it will also be a home run accessory.

If you are going to dive into photography as more than a passing fad...buy mirrorless.

Ilford is hardly objective...it's in their interests to do the survey.

I don't doubt that film has gotten a small bump...but it's nostalgia...certainly not convenience...nor control.

Low light has more to do with sensor size...as well as pixel size and capability.

A7SIII is only 12 MP...but spread out on a FF sensor...low light monster.

Sensor size and iso is easy math...and consistent.

A FF sensor at iso 400...is iso100 on a micro sensor.
AFF sensor at iso 225...is iso 100 on a crop sensor.

You start in the hole with smaller sensors.
