Yep.....using a filter to protect your lenses is a no brainer. Keeps dirt, water and scratches off the lense element. Easier to replace a filter that's scratched or broken than an $$$$ lenses.

Anyone comment on drone photography. More and more I realize this would be a game change with the right equipment.

I purchased a year ago a Nikon 7200 for the same reason. I can use all my manual focus lenses from the 70s and have active metering.. Plus it has two card slots and the updated nikon fast focus system. Adjusting the old lenses on the 7200 was difficult but after adjustment they are laser sharp.

Just a photo taken last year. Why I keep it.....don't know.

Nikon plans to kill its authorized US repair program in March 2020 by cutting off access to official parts, tools, software and manuals to 15 official repair shops, iFixit has reported. The move will force owners to send busted cameras to just two Nikon-operated repair centers in the US, significantly delaying repairs. Nikon made the move in the wake of a steep decline in profits as smartphones continue to decimate camera sales across the industry.
