These Dwellings are located just north of Silver City, New Mexico. They were built around 1280, and abandoned around 1300. It is thought they were abandoned due to drought, but the rangers are not sure.

To get to them, we had to hike, climbing rock stairs for about a half of a mile at an altitude of over 7,000', climbing all of the way, huffing and puffing, but the effort was worth it.
