I love to photograph nudibranchs on a reflective stage. I not only find the images pleasing but they really show off the animal itself.
I had a 105mm lens while shooting an octopus nest last week. It doesn't focus as closely, but I like the quality of the images.
Those are different species from California, Canada, and the Philippines. Shooting with a 15mm wide angle lens for most of those shots would put me within 6-12" of the octopus.
Hard to pick a favorite, but nudibranchs are at or near the top of the list.
I use a Subal aluminum housing. It's my third one (D3x and D700) without any leaks.
I found a large cabezon, Scorpaenichthys marmoratus perched on top of a rock yesterday. During a dive on Monday I found a juvenile flitting around the reef. I don't see the juveniles often, but this one held still for one photo.

The ocean continues to be a bit rough, so I made another dock dive. Visibility was near zero in the top ten feet. I was about to abort the dive when it cleared to nearly a body length on the silty bottom. I stuck it out for nearly two hours and managed to come away with a few decent shots.
Now we're talking! Tiny critters are right up my alley. These are all under one inch long. Some are nearly microscopic!
