I think it's a great way to give some interesting composition along with a nice lit sky. Expose for saturated, stunning sunrise/sunset and have sharp silhouettes in the foreground. I'm big into skies and clouds but sometimes they don't have enough content to stand on they're own.
Reported strong northern lights incoming this past weekend in Wisconsin, went 2 hours north on 2 separate occasions, friday night and Saturday night, only to find out the media totally hyped it and there ended up being none at all, got these 2 nice pictures for my trouble though.
I really enjoy my d750, I upgraded from a d3200 last year and it feels leaps and bounds better than a crop frame, plus the added ability of using fx lenses with AF. Just be aware that any dx glass you might have will have to be used in crop mode.

Hi yall, I've been photography enthusiast for awhile and have enjoyed every moment of it. Just hopped on here looking to have more positive influence direct me as I become more invested in the hobby, would love to become a pro one day but we will see how that goes I suppose. Nikon user, mostly digital, but have very recently dipped my toes into film and find it to be a very rewarding medium. I like to take pictures of most things, automotive, scenery, travel, people. I'll attach a few items I've shot recently to just get a profile. I'm excited to learn more by being around other enthusiasts and pros.
