I recently found several rolls of exposed 120 color negative, and 35mm E6 film in a closet. I figure this film is at least 20-30 years old. My first inclination was to dispose of these films, but my curiosity is getting the best of me. I'd like to see what is on these films. I believe the film has always been keep indoors away from warm temperatures.
Has anyone reading this had a similar situation and processed the film? What were the results?
Also, can anyone recommend a lab or two in So. Calif.
Thanks

When we used old 8x10 Ektachrome, the processed transparencies had a heavy magenta color tint. We corrected it by shooting with a 20 to 30CC green gel filter.

I have an adapter that allows me to put my Olympus OM lenses on a Canon D5mk4 body. I think it may have come from Adarama.

I discovered (probably the last one to do so) that this Laowa lens will mount on both a Canon R5 and a Canon 5D Mk4 bodies. There is no electrical connection and the magnification is different, but it works.

Hi Curmugeon,
Thanks. I want to fix it so I can rotate and move the bugs easily into position.

I recently purchased a Laowa 25mm F2.8 Ultra Macro 5X and did these test pictures. The lens was set at F16 and mounted on a Canon R5, with a improvised macro rig.
Later this summer, after I work out the kinks, I plan to try focus stacking with it.

The green thing is a pigweed leaf.

I had a difficult time downloading the update, such that I began to think it was an April Fool joke. I finally succeeded in using https://my.canon/en/support/0400842502 and repeatedly trying to save the zip file, which has the update and instructions.

I too got a failure of Sandisk products. They require paying ($100 as I recall) for the tools to recover pictures from the card that should have worked properly to begin with. They should not be profiting from recovering files from their shabby cards and thumb drives. (IMHO)

I tested this with a Canon R5 and 28 to 300 zoom at 300mm. The image in the viewfinder is noticeably improved as you progress from no stabilization to body stabilization and then lens & body stabilization. Hand hold the camera with the viewfinder image magnified.

The 24-300 zoom is EOS mount & used with the control ring adapter.

With old sheet film, especially for transparencies, the color balance gets more magenta as it ages. I would need 30 CC green whenever i used the oldest film. This was mostly 8X10 Ektachrome Professional.

I calculated that, so far, I have made 25,200 large format (4 X 5 and 8 X 10) film photos. I have taken an estimated 15,000 digital photos.

There are two versions, one with a "Control Ring" for about $200, and one without for about $100. I have not yet found a clear explanation of what the control ring does.

I designed a wood burning stove many years ago.
The wood comes from discarded furniture.

Hi Sippy
I was wondering.... Have you ever used this technique to photograph snow flakes?
