I run all Apple devices except my laptop, which is going to be a Christmas gift to my 93 year old mother. I want to seamlessly integrate my workflow by having all my devices running on the same operating system. I am learning Photoshop and need advice on which MacBook Pro to buy without mortgaging the house and that will be a smooth intergration to process my photos in Photoshop. I thank you in advance.

Needing to replace my older Dell with something more Photoshop friendly. Disappointed with latest Dell and this comes up:

Lenovo 15.6” Legion 5 series
1920 x 1080 display
16 GB RAM
1 TB SSD
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
Windows 10 home (64 bit)
Was $1,600. Now only $1,200

Negatively, sone screen issue with pixel problems. And read battery life is terrible. Is this due to quality inspection issues during COVID? Most were favorable comments so does anybody know? Thanx, Greer

Going to be on the heavy and large side with all that gear. Maybe consider a backpack style?
Just an opinion from a sling bag user with much less equipment.

You’re right. I’d say D850 with 24-70 and 70-200 with wireless flash. Or 24-70 and one (possibly two) other lenses.

Wanting a sling bag for tossing into vehicle for trips, both planned and unexpected, around city and countryside. Must be padded and comfortable; nothing to stiff. I have a D850 with 24-70mm 2.8 attached. Will also be carrying 70-200mm or instead of 70-200, one or two other smaller lenses. Wanting adequate protection of gear. Extra pockets for wireless flash, etc. Will pay for quality, but nothing excessive. Yes, I do want a sling bag. Serious suggestions only. Thank you all in advance.

A little confused. You say you have moved to FX so you no longer need your DX lenses, but you're looking to trade for a DX camera???

Maybe I was a bit confusing. I am using FX camera and 70-200mm and have the TC. I’m looking at longer telephoto for nature photography. My thinking is the D500 gives me the 1.5 crop factor on my FX lens and 10 fps. This is ideal for birding, among other types of photography when you can’t get close and every shot counts. If I’m wrong please tell me because I’m new at this. Thanks,
Greer L.

Will entertain all offers on trouble-free cameras. Lens is in like-new condition. Looking for used D500. Thanks for taking a chance on what I think is the most awesome APS-C lens out there. I've moved to FX so no longer need my DX lenses. Looking to upgrade from my old D7100 for nature photography. Serious inquiries only. Offers considered only upon submission of photos and current shutter count. Must be in good working order. Thanks,
Greer L.

Selling my Nikon 17-55mm Journalist lens. Condition 9+. Can't give it a 10 only because I no longer have the box. Comes with both lens caps and the lens hood. Aperture Range: f/2.8 to f/22. Three Aspherical and Three ED Elements. Bright constant f/2.8 maximum aperture affords consistent illumination throughout the zoom range and also affords greater control over depth of field for working with selective focus techniques. This is a APS-C format lens. 14 Elements in 10 Groups. 77 mm (Front) filter included. Compatible with the D750 and most all newer DX cameras (to many to list here). You must pay postage and insurance on check. As soon as check clears I will mail lens to you, postage and insurance paid. Please allow 4-6 weeks from my receiving check. List price of $1,499.00. Buy now for $900 firm.

Thanx Larry. That’s what I was missing. Dividing twice by 1.5, if you could call that a formula. Makes sense now as to my question, as I was trying to establish how Nikon came up with their 19-20 MP’s. And I’ve read some who say it’s as little as 10MP and upward to 30MP when using DX mode. 😎 Have a great day.

Crop factor, a term which in my mind should never have been spoken or written, is a linear adjustment. As mentioned, it is applied to the diagonal, the length, and the width of the frame. But pixel count, in this case, is tied to the area of the frame. That means that you have to apply the crop factor twice...once to the length and once to the width. 1.5 x 1.5 = 2.25. Using that number, 46.5 ÷ 2.25 = 19.4 (or so).

A quick look at the frame dimensions tells you that's about right...DX is a little smaller than one end of an FX frame if you cut it in half...like the old Pen-F half frame cameras.

I want to figure thr number of mega-pixels I’ll be dealing with in DX mode on my D850. So, do I divide the 45mp of the D850 by 1.5, meaning the resulting DX equivalent image contains 30mp? Is their a formula for this? The formula is what I’m looking for. Thanx.

Interesting how so many will buy that overpriced 105mm G VR. I was one of them. The Tokina 100mm f2.8 macro is so much better when it comes to image quality, and at less than half the cost! Even without VR, which one doesn't need for macro, and without IF, the Tokina is a far better macro lens. No matter how many spiders, crickets, or bees I shot with those two lenses, the prickly hairs on spiders' legs, jagged spikes on the crickets' legs, and the hairs on honeybees were always tack sharp with the Tokina and a bit soft with the Micro Nikkor sans any post process sharpening. And yes, I compulsively AF tune all my lenses. Many reviewers will report something similar about the G VR lens. So I thought I'd just convey my honest 2 cents worth, thinking maybe somebody will pay attention.
