Lenovo 15.6” Legion 5 series

Needing to replace my older Dell with something more Photoshop friendly. Disappointed with latest Dell and this comes up:

Lenovo 15.6” Legion 5 series
1920 x 1080 display
16 GB RAM
1 TB SSD
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
Windows 10 home (64 bit)
Was $1,600. Now only $1,200

Negatively, sone screen issue with pixel problems. And read battery life is terrible. Is this due to quality inspection issues during COVID? Most were favorable comments so does anybody know? Thanx, Greer

I have a dell that specs far superior to this:
Cost was $1,800.

I have been using while traveling in Europe for three months.
I have no issue.
The battery is incredible:
► Well over three hours while browsing the net and playing movies. (100% unplugged)
► Over two hours when using PS CC and dealing with images and video. (100% CPU unplugged)
It would be more if I did not want the top speed all the time.
Oh, it runs cool, and the fans are not annoying.

I did not know how good it was at the time. It was not even promoted when I purchased it.

For the money you are talking about you can build a wow home built. There are also off-lease used computers for bargain prices. However, DIY home built are fun and fast and give you bragging rights to the box others consider to be as mysterious as the "Ark of the Covenant."

Computers are almost foolproof for DIY home build. Even W-10 Pro is available for low cost if you do a search. Using last year's reduced-price game parts can provide you with an excellent computer. Tools needed a $10 set of screwdrivers, a wrist static strap, and a Sunday afternoon when it is cold and snowing. Example:

The parts can not be plugged in the wrong spot since the connectors are "only fits here" type. If you can plug in a desk lamp you can build a computer.

Google "low cost W-10" and a world of offers will be shown. The market is aimed at computer builders, some are foreign and so the price is geared to what that country can handle vs the expensive USA market. The download is typically from Microsoft and the license is a download. Here is an example price as low as $19 for W-10 pro

My AMD 3600 on an MSI MOBO was easy. BIOS/UEFI settings are described in articles and if you just copy what the author has done you are not far wrong.

Reason? I have a JavaScript add-on that refused their site…

OK, buy a one-time pay-as-you-go credit card. Read Tom's Hardware article on $30 Opsys.
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/get-windows-10-free-or-cheap,5717.html

"For example, at the time of writing, Kinguin sells Windows 10 Home for $30, Amazon charges $130, and Newegg's pushing it for $109.99 or $130 for the Pro version for OEM." I bought mine from Kingqin for $30. They take PayPal:

https://www.kinguin.net/category/19429/windows-10-professional-oem-key

"Can be activated in - United States"
Windows is downloaded from Microsoft, you buy the key from Kingqin.

Rongnongno, you would disregard your shoes because of a broken shoelace!! My AVAST rings its chimes at times for a download... it errors on the side of caution. What does your attempt at Kinquin say?

"According to Trustpilot, Kinguin has a four out of five star rating from more than 30,000 reviews."
