I have a couple of 7000 series Nikons and a multitude of lens. I take them everywhere because you never know what you might see. Both my grand kids, 10 & 14 use them also as well as their D200 & D300 which they started with when they were about 5. At 76 with bad knees I find myself lugging the gear around while my 14 yr old has his smart phone with all kinds of photo apps on it, knowing full well that Grand Pa has good stuff with him should he need it! I do have to admit that he has taken some great PICS with the phone, the 10 yr old usually asks to use one of my 7000s
Flybys are frequent the last couple of weeks here in SW VA near the Blue Ridge Parkway. Wonderful to see.. Great PIC!
I no longer have it but it was a Ricoh 35 MM. I bought it just before I went to Vietnam in 1968. I liked it because it was small and light, which was good because every thing I owned was carried on my back for 13 months. It served me well until I bought my first Nikon in the early 70s
Yum, Yum wish I was there
Beautiful, a real classic. I have 4 Model A Fords not nearly as refined as the Cad.
The devil is in the details. A great paint job is 90% prep and 10% spraying. Many, many hours of block sanding. etc, That is why a good commercial shop charges upwards of 5K and more. Looking at the PICS you used a large amount of elbow grease to arrive at what we see. Great Job!
No I didn't. We did shows in NC, VA, PA, Ohio,Illinois, Indiana Went to the National sale in Springfield for over 10 years. Were good friends with Phil and Berry Farrel who manager the St Louis facility for years. All good memories, too bad we can't eat the trophies and ribbons!
Best of luck with your Clydes.
We also broke ours to ride and drive. We traveled many miles to state fairs and for years they were a feature of the local Scottish festival. An event we did every year was to take them to a local large Christmas tree farm here in Va, we would put one in a paddock for petting, and use the other to pull the trees that the customers had cut, to their vehicles. Often the children would get on the reins with us and walk them out, the look on their faces were priceless and now more than 25 years ago I bet some of them are still talking about it. Wish we could go back to that time, but physical limitations get in the way. Being ours were always out in public we trained them not to fear vehicle backfires, fireworks, gunshots, chainsaws and all manner of noises.

This is a collection of photos of our 4 Clydesdales. 2 from Anheuser Busch and 2 from a private farm in Michigan. These show tacking up, riding, and hugging involved with their training. Notice the "trail ride" where they line up like they were hitched.
great horses. We raised and showed stallions for many years. Enjoyed traveling around the country and showing them. The annual sale was great to attend, enjoyed the company of so many big horse lovers. Enjoy these gentle giants. We no longer own or show them, old age caught up with us..

I recently participated in an F-Stoppers experiment comparing images form a D850 and an I-Phone in combination with a Profoto strobe.
Each image was processed then reviewed by a large number of people who were asked to pick the best between them. The I-Phone won 55% to 45%.
I was in the minority but still very impressed.
I can only image where the technology will be in a few years with phones, strobes/flashes and AI processing.
Wish I was 10 years younger.
In my opinion it would of been better if it was head to head, both devices in the same setting, not two different locations.
very nice, cattle in the background sets it off. Opportunities like this don't come often, well deserved!
Looks like a painting
as a forty five + year Volunteer fire fighter I salute you, and the rest of my fellow FF
outstanding Pic, we try to spend a couple of days at Cass every year, the grand kids really like being there, and so does grandma & grandpa
Love the Clydes, raised and showed them for a number of years. Enjoyed going to the National sale and the annual meeting, then we got old... Misty Hollow Clydesdale's Floyd VA
I am surrounded by timber, every couple of years I have a friend come over with his 58' reach bucket truck and side trim or remove any tress that might strike the house, garage and barn. A small price to pay to sleep well when the wind is gusting 50 MPH + here in the mountains of VA
Good that your neighbor didn't get hurt..
