Send them a DMCA notice. Cheaper than a lawyer and pretty effective. You can find a sample one on line easily.

Not a problem at all. Just make sure the light is coming from the same direction.

Ah, but each of those cranked out kids means a check to many. A check, incidentally, from thee and me and probably not written by hand.

I didn't learn to write a check in school - my parents taught me. Although I think that basic home economics needs to be required as part of any high school curriculum. There used to be "Home Ec", but that became nothing more than a cooking and sewing course for girls. I'm talking about the reality of running personal finances - not just writing a check, but balancing a check account, interest, loans, budgets, cost of living, etc.

Paint Shop Pro, a light unsharp mask. If specific areas need a touch more, I use the sharpening tool, but am watchful not to overdo it.

Also, the closer you physically are to your subject, the more narrow the depth of field. If your camera is close to the train, try backing up.

I know someone who does very well there with video. However, this is a person who is enormously successful at microstock images and video

That first one makes me nervous. I don't know the specific statistics, but electrocution is a high cause of death for bald eagles. Congrats on the captures, though. An elusive subject, for sure.

It's a pomegranate.

Thanks for coming back with new feedback!

Here is the reshoot.

That is the bottle top - a glass stopper. It's also amethyst colored - when I light the front better, that will be more obvious. But perhaps not obvious enough. I took it off the bottle because it adds quite a bit of height to the bottle and that would really change the general composition, creating what would be (to me) too much negative space in this image.

I could be wrong.

And thank you -- I've actually done a couple different paint filters on it that look kind of nice.

I really appreciate all the specific points and suggestions - all of which are good.

Incidentally, I did try it with a glass, but wasn't happy with what I got. But now, with all the input I've gotten, I will try this again and come back with the results. I only get to shoot on weekends, so I'll update this thread then.

Yes, I have the stopper - you can't really see it, but it's there.

Excellent advice. I will try that.

I have to step away from my computer now, but will be back tomorrow to see other replies. Thanks to everyone!!!

I think it's a rather awkward composition.

OK - good feedback. This is the first time I've really tried this style. What would improve the composition?

It's your art your creation if you don't like it and it's not good enough for you you know what to do do the re shoot

OK - that makes sense.

In general, does the scene have the potential to be a pleasing image? I know for sure I've got to get more room at the top, but I'm not sure about the mixed lighting. I guess I'm not objective.

I tried this classic still life but didn't see how shallow the depth of field was in the viewfinder. Should have, but didn't. Yes, I knew I was going for shallow dof because I wanted the background to be blurred, so it's not like I'm surprised. So, my question is if the blur on the decanter is ok because of the style of the scene? My gut tells me no, but I'm not sure.

If I do need the decanter to be sharp, is the scene otherwise worth a reshoot? I know that may not be the only issue - the mixed light temperatures, the close crop on top. I feel like I'm talking myself into liking anything about it, but I also feel like it's close.
