Excellent use of the road to lead the viewer directly into the sunset. You picked the perfect time to shoot the picture with the sun shining underneath the clouds. The tree on the right is also very interesting and adds to the composition. Is there any way you can bring out some of the shadow detail in the tree as I think seeing some detail in the tree wood make it an even better photo than it already is?

Very nice photo as it's very tough to shoot in Antelope Canyon and get good all around exposure. Might I humbly suggest you try to dodge the portion of the sky that is showing and reduce the chromatic aberration is around the rocks where the sky shines through.

If you are going to step up to an 80D, then you need to seriously consider investing in better glass than kit lenses. Remember it's the lens that captures the light and the resolution that you want in a quality picture. L Series lenses are affordable if you stay away from the faster lenses i.e. go with an f4 instead of a f2.8.

The first photo is my pick of the two. I like how you captured the nearly mirror-like reflection of the bird as well as the surrounding area. It literally looks like the bird is standing on the water.

You also need to check whether or not you are restricted to a single point using auto focus if you're not using an f 2 .8 lens.

Your Asus computer is upgradable and it sounds like the cloning program that is the problem. I never had any problems upgrading my ROG Asus.

Use Adobe Photoshop Creative Suite as a service which means you pay a monthly subscription cost of $10 a month. For beginners, Lightroom is a fantastic organization and editing program. The good thing about buying the service and using Lightroom is that it is being updated all of the time and those updates are available free of charge. With Lightroom, you get Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) to edit your pictures. The latest version of ACR is the best program out there for just simply pushing the auto feature on all of the adjustments and coming out with a really good-looking photograph. The other good thing is that when camera companies come out with new cameras they are always updating ACR to accept the raw files of the new cameras. With Photoshop Elements you are buying a standalone application, but you have to make sure you go and get all of the updates that are made to the program so it will accept yours and other newer camera models as they come out. The $10 a month is way more beneficial than outright owning a standalone program. I have tried every editing and organizing program that's been out there for the last 30 years and Photoshop CC, Lightroom with ACR receives my highest recommendation for organizing editing and processing photos. Particularly as you are a beginner.

Not too sure why so many folks out there commenting on this picture think that if someone makes a suggestion they think would be an improvement to the photo treat that person who made the comment as a heretic and start persecuting them. The photo is a good photo with the bails in the picture. However, the bails could also be taken as the subject of the picture because they are so large and the barn is so small. Photography is all about what an individual sees and I don't think we need to be so sharp in responses that we don't necessarily agree with. Myself I would have focused more on the detail in the barn and have tried to find bails that were closer to the barn to use as leading lines. But, that is my opinion and does not make the photo a poor one.

Oops! I thought you were looking for information about going and shooting at Tombstone Arizona, the town that was too tough to die!

If you're looking to try and capture the tombstone characters IE people that dress up as the historical figures use a long lens around 400 and you can get them in character. If you're looking to shoot at Boot Hill the cemetery I would shoot it early mornings. I have taken photos of the characters many many time about twice a year. You can also get some good character pictures at the gun shows and other plays that they have.

Canon Tom has hit the nail on the head! I am a very recent addition to the Forum and this thread has been very informative and what also I expect to see as subject matters. You're never too old to learn something new and this thread has stimulated me enough to go back and try micro adjusting my lenses for my camera bodies. Thanks. Benzene.

I had an issue with my 600mm and did my own testing on the micro adjustment calibration features and the adjustments did not help. I sent the the lens back into Canon and they recalibrated the lens, and since then, I have had no focusing or image problems whatsoever. I also check my lenses for sharpness, particularly when I'm using the 600 and 400 by zooming in to 100 to 200%. I understand the effects of depth of field, but the fact that he is having to adjust to such extremes makes me think there is something wrong with the equipment.
