Relax and don't panic. Take a lot. With digital and post processing you have it made! I shot my nieces wedding. My sister said she had never seen me so nervous and shook up. For some reason I thought my camera was not advancing the film so I opened the back to fix it. Fortunately it was working and only a few frames were ruined. People who looked at the final product asked who the professional was so they could hire him..

You can do it in post processing by highlighting the flower, then choosing "inverse" and then blurring the background. You can do other things to either the flower or the background using this approach.

I use this lens on my Nikon 5500. A relatively low cost option. I really like it. With post processing sometimes including Topaz A1 Sharpening and Gigipixel and Noise reduction, I get photos that meet my standards and others enjoy and praise. I sell cards but nothing else. I am strictly a somewhat picky amateur who needs to please only myself, and this lens works great for me. Its been a long time since I took out other lenses and that was a macro one.

I want to create a slide show that I can post on a list serve by email, and that people can look at directly from an attachment without going through hoops. 20 slides more or less and that advances by itself. Some persons who will watch it are not computer experts.

I just got Topaz sharpen A1. It seems too easy. Do you just use the automatic choice of what to change? ? Is there a good YouTube video or set of instructions you would recommend.

Yours is not the only place this issue arises. I live in Lancaster County Pennsylvania, the so called Garden Spot of the world. People buy and build houses in rural areas and then complain about or try to limit smells that come from farms. A group is now trying to stop a farmer from building a large building to raise ducks. He says it is necessary to keep his operation viable.

A quick and easy way if the photo is sharp and works otherwise, is to use the selection tool to choose the area you want to keep then choose inverse, and then use other tools such as lighten or darken or blur to get the effect you want.

Did I miss something? After focusing where you want the focus with BBF, simply focus on the part of the photo that is lighted for your exposure. Push the shutter botton half way and while holding it compose you photo and push it the rest of the way.

Without. It looks contrived and poised. If it could look natural, maybe with. Maybe a bed of leaves.

I ran my cell phone through the washer in my pant's pocket. It was turned on. Immediately removed the battery and put it in rice for several days then used a vacuum to suck out liquid, but there was none after several days in the rice. It now works fine but with several spots on the screen. I needed an excuse to get a better phone, but that is likely not the case with a d850.

Yes, I remember Cronkite with great appreciation. But he worked in a vary different environment. News once a day with time to develop facts and perspective rather than reporting instantaneously, politicians who could fight during the day and go out for dinner with families together in the evening, a less politicized supreme court, no social media to construct and nurture conspiracy theories, congress that had v**es which were not completely along party lines, a recognition of a role for government to recover from the war by helping other countries and internal recovery programs, and recognition of the need for things which serve us all like the interstate highway system. Remember that corporate taxes were quite high during the Regan years.

Am i just being nostalgic? Or have there been some deep changes in our social and political systems which make it difficult to find common ground?

I think this says it al! When we live with others we have responsibilities to be sensitive to their welfare. I don't like speed limits, or zoning laws, or jay walking laws or laws against excessive noise. If we want the protection regulations on others provide and police protections when others violate our rights, we need to comply with some things we do not prefer. Simple common sense and the price for living in a good, civil society.

Great photos. What impressed me is the absence of glaciers compared to photos I took in the late 70's.
