Boeing has for 60 plus years been a designer and integrator of some fantastic commercial aircraft. They sold off their parts and sub assembly business in KS, to what became Spirit. They sold their giant machine parts and composite facility in St Louis to GKN. They sold off or divested most of their other parts business over many years. In the US Boring is the largest buyer of details and sub assemblies in aviation. Their reliance on subcontractors for everything from washers to complete systems like landing gear and huge structural assemblies. So managing the quality and delivery of these subcontracted parts is nothing new or radical to their business model. The 747 Boeings crowning achievement was largely produced by other companies. Boeing built the 41 section, (cockpit nose section) and the wings. Northrop did most of the detail design and built all the fuselage and floor, shipping them in oversize rail cars to Boeing. The tail a horizontal stabilizers by Vaught. The landing gear etc and many other large assemblies by suppliers.
Boeings current problems are of their own doing. Don’t feel sorry for them. Airbus has been creeping up on Boeing and has surpassed them in a big way. That’s put a lot of pressure on them, but quality and delivery can never be compromised for anything.

One additional point worth considering on a MAC is the additional SSD size is like all things on the mini and studio machines all built in with zero opportunity to upgrade after purchase, however a good external NVME drive in a suitable enclosure works at a speed very close to the internal SSD drive. At Apples $400 a TB upgrade price you can get a 4 TB NVME, that you can swap out upgrade or change anytime you like.

I was going to suggest the iMac 27", but Apple is not making them right now. I understand Apple is bringing the 27" back in 2025, but that is not firm.

Can you get by with the 24" iMac?

Apple have confirmed they are NOT going to release a 27” I Mac.

I enjoyed your series.

Where were the birds. Last year many were at Bernardo, and not Bosque until sunset.
Love your shots.

You don't get much as you say too many people. However. Earlier this year we spent some time there and saw deer in multiple locations, and bears had been seen, by other photographers nto me.

We just left and the only real crowds were at Grand Prismatic Spring, the Fairy Falls overlook, and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Lamar and Hayden valley's were not bad at all. I used my 200-500 and the 24-120Z on a Z8 all the time. I took a bunch of other lens including a 70-200 2.8 but never took them out of the bag. Things were either a landscape view or wildlife. The longer the better in Yellowstone for wildlife. For the first time in 4 visits to Yellowstone we saw no bears. According to the rangers we spoke with, it was a very light year for bears this year, and at this time they have mostly headed to higher elevations for the winter. We did see quite a few Moose for the first time, 7 in all, 3 in GT, 4 in Yellowstone. Always a great trip.

You will need more wide angle lens than telephoto as the views are close up. I would however take one long lens as you are driving for the occasional wild life.

Always take the first boat out. Calmer waters made observing the whales easier. Oct - March are the Humpback migration months, June -sep there are blue whales. Always a good trip out.

My Z8 by S/n is in need of repair. Like the original poster i noticed there is no ability to select Z8, or select nothing. So i selected Z7 just to get it to print. I then called Nikon Service center in Signal Hill, (Thats based on where my Zip code directs it). They acknowledged the selection problem and said they will remove it as step in the coming days, as it's not necessary, but stops you from proceeding. Based on my phone number she could had all the information from me filing the form out on line. So she registered it for me, confirmed that my camera need the repair and told me to proceed with shipping it. Based on how many they get, at the time they receive it, it could take up to 9 days, but probably will be much less than that.
She was super helpful and pleasant. Just what you expect from a customer agent but you don't always get. Well Done.

So many people say there is no need for a high megapixel camera to get great images. While true a high megapixel camera allows you the flexibility to crop to get a shot that would not be the same if you didn't. You did this to great effect in your pictures above. You just can't always get close enough, or focus close enough to get the shot you want. High megapixel cameras give you that option.

I used the Tokina 11-16, when i had a D7000 liked it very much, fast reasonably priced and very good images. I still have and use it now i have D810 & D850 cameras, as it works well on a FX camera should you go that rout, but only at 16mm.

I have had the IMAC 27" 5K I7 based Mac since 2014 and its still running just fine, on Catalina, but more importantly is that 5K display. It's a joy to look at. Let's be honest we all spend too much time in front of a PC so have the best screen you can afford. You won't regret it. Remember the Rolls Royce motto of 100 years ago. "The quality of the product will be remembered long after the cost is paid" Paraphrased.
