I bought the 6D book by James Johnson which got 4.5 stars at Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/193753829X/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have read this one pretty much cover to cover after using the camera for a year already. This book is extremely thorough as he breaks down every single menu item, button, and control function. It is also well organized and written in a manor that photographers like us appreciate reading, not just technical jargon. If you really want to know the in's and out's of this camera, I would suggest this one.

Peteto, don't know if you read enough posts to go ahead and buy the 6D by now. I have the 50D and bought the 6D about a year ago. I did lots of research and comparison like you are doing now. I am so glad I saved the $ and went with this one instead of the 5D. Yes, you will be able to get fantastic images in almost any light. I don't let the ISO exceed 1200 or so for great noise reduction. You will have to get an external flash of coarse, and this will control all flash settings on a Canon flash from the camera menus. I use the WiFi and the EOS app on my phone for remote shooting, great when you are also in the picture. I have the battery/grip which adds more weight but balances it well since the camera is lighter than the 24-105 lens. If you want a Canon (you do) and want full frame (you do) then buy this one. Get the Canon flash on ebay though. Good luck.

I happen to be in one of those lulls right now. It was triggered by other events. Try shooting with a different way of seeing, or a subject you haven't tried yet. Look at how your photos are different, not trying to be better than others. Spend more time honing your skills and you will be more confident.

It sounds to me like you had the stabilizer switch ON on your lens. You need to switch it off when using a tripod so the lens isn't always "searching" for movement. Check your lens and see if this helps.

Check out B&H in NY, Lightroom on sale 50% off but it is on backorder. I placed my order anyway. I have been using ACD Systems ACD See Pro for a couple of years now and find it a great program to upload RAW, organize, process, convert, and even some editing. They have a free trial to try out.
