In 4 years, I have never had a problem with Topaz: AI (new), DeNoise, Sharpen or Gigapixel. Yes, get in touch with them.

I have had the M1 24" iMac since June (replaced my late 2015 iMac 27") - it is blistering fast. Not sure they are going to have a 27" Would like more than the 16Gb but not really necessary but 32Gb will be available next version. 1TB internal SSD. Running light room on a Sabrient Rocket Pro 2TB SSD at up to 1000 Mbs. The CalDigit element Thunder Bolt 4 is a must have. Have a Lacie 6TB Thunderbolt 3 Drive . Have Blackjack VX2SSD with 2GB Samsung in each slot for back ups inc Time Machine.

Absolutely NO issues running Lightroom Classic.

Scott thanks for the excellent comments. D500 is great just not enough FPS at times. Would love to wait for DX version but being older no idea when that will be.
My only other big camera is the Z6 and I have several of those lenses - just does not work that well for wildlife.
The Z9 does have DX mode but you are correct that is only 20 MP.
The premise was ignore economics and just from wildlife photographer perspective I agree may not be worth the expense.

And no way do I want to ditch my Nikon stuff for another brand - 50 years with Nikon
But Z9 is still a monster.
Appreciated

Yes, will probably rent first - probably 3-4 months off until available.
Steve has a blog going on the Z9 and did review on the A1

Agree specs look terrific vs D500 - may have to keep my Z6 for walk around because so much smaller/lighter

OK I know it is early but do the Z9 specs indicate I should ditch my trusty D500 for a Z9 for wildlife photography. Yes the Z9 is heavy but with big glass does it make that big a difference? Are the Z9 advantages worth the switch - not talking about the economic impact just the performance. Interested in your views. thanks

When it is back in stock try this CalDigit Thunderbolt 4 hub - 4X USB A at 10Gbps & 3X Thunderbolt @ 40 Gbps $200. and you can daisy chain additional or add a USB 3.1 Gen 2 hub

Just bought a new MBP withe M1 chip.the sales rep said I did not have to upgrade to 16gb ram he said 8with the M1 chip was more than enough to run LR and PS. I chose 16 anyway but still setting it up and trying to figure out how to connect my photos from my external HD

Try Lightroom Preferences - General - Default Catalog - open dialog - other - choose your external HD

Thank you for the answers very helpful - think I will stay with the 512GB SSD since all Lightroom stuff is in a 2TB Sabrent SSD. Don't really need the larger internal SDD and I have a Lacie HDD for Time Machine and dual 2TB Blackjet AFT SSD for back up
appreciated

Currently running late 2015 27"iMac with 32GB - mostly photographic and Excel/Word/Powerpoint + web browsing

Understand the current M1 Chip design is limited to 16GB of Unified Memory. Those out there with M1 MacBooks - is 16GB enough for Lightroom and Photoshop.

Thinking of the ne iMac 24" with 16GB? Anyone have pros and cons of buying the M1 iMac or buy the older iMac 27" with 32GB?

appreciated

I use 'P' or 'Auto' when I hand my camera to someone to take our picture - eliminates any confusion if that person is a novice or not familiar with my camera

I have that G2 lens on my D500. I use a Sirui monopod (with legs off) with a Wimberly MH100 mono gimbal - much easier to carry that a tripod. After using that set up for a while sold my Sirui full tripod gimbal head.
I do use the 150-600 G2 on my Markins M10 Q-ball head for my Gitzo G1227 Mk2 when I can use a tripod v- hope that helps

That is what I did 15 years ago after back surgery and doctor screaming - get it out of your back pocket ;-)

I now use a knee chair in the morning - sitting at 90 degrees when you get up is not a good idea for us with back issues. Forces your hips higher than your knees. Agree get up every now and then and walk around - stand vertical against a wall.
