It appears that your otherwise nice photo was shot with the sun just out of the frame. Sometimes you'll get a "flare" in the picture as the sun reflects off the perimeter of the various glass lenses within your lense. Try the same shot with the sun further from the frame and you'll be pleased with the results.

Not to put too fine a point on it. But the D5100 is essentially a 7000 in a smaller lighter (if somewhat cheaper) body. When you run a comparison on the Nikon site, they're very comparable. But it really is a personal preference thing. :wink:

I use the Nikon D5100 and I am very pleased with the camera and the software that comes with it. But it IS a personal thing. You might try renting each camera for a week or two first just to get a feel for each one. After all, you will ultimately end up making quite an investment in whichever one you choose. So why not spend a little more so that you can make an intelligent decision?
