Recently returned from the Galapagos where a couple of our group are experienced divers.
Both used the Olympus. It's small and easy to operate.
Good luck to your brother in retirement!

Another vote for Toshiba here. I have the older Satellite L70-A 17", but recently replaced the HD with a SSD and upgraded the memory to 16G.
I realize this is too big for you, but upgrading a Toshiba is an easy DIY project, with parts from Amazon. You may want to see what you can do too!

You might be a bit late for the chick feeding (usually mid-July), but the Tufted puffins there are high on my bucket list.

There are also Pigeon Guillemots, and Rhinoceros Auklets. There are also others could be all three cormorant species (Brandt's, Pelagic and Double-crested),
Black Oystercatcher, Caspian Tern, Turkey Vulture, Western Sandpiper, Belted Kingfisher, Common Murre, Marbled Murrelet, Bald Eagles, and a variety of gulls.

Check out TimBoyerPhotography.com for ideas.

Cheers,
Bob

I have used an Epson Perfection V700 Photo scanner for years. I have, however, replaced the Epson scanning software with
Hamrick VueScan 9 Professional Edition. I has a 35mm slide holder where you can scan 12 slides at once.

There is a newer model, the V800 ($1,100 CDN), but there are many reviews of the V700 scanner online with specifications.
It can do 48 bit RGB, with archival quality at 6400 pixels, maximum OPTICAL resolution. You could possibly find one used.

Hope this helps.

I have and love the 200-500mm zoom. I am using it on a D500 (crop) camera which gives me extra reach.

It is fast, very sharp, and light.

Hope this helps.

Hi there! I use the Nikon D500 and shoot Auto-ISO almost all the time. I see the selected ISO on the bottom
right corner in the viewfinder. Of course the ISO is also displayed in the top, right-side LCD window.

In your manual, om p.54 and p.69, there are samples of this ISO display shown
with Auto showing under the label ISO.

I have found that setting the ISO sensitivity settings as follows works very well for me:
ISO sensitivity Lo1
Maximum sensitivity 6400

Good luck, I hope this helps!
I love my D500s
Bob
