Been there, seen em, done that. (A few times). Better recorded than live. They might be good live but left to their sound engineer they totally suck. Vocals not balanced, both players at same volume when one is featuring solo and overall volume of the band is overpowering and mushes everything together into a redundant noise. And no, I am not getting to old, just a frequent enough live performance attendee that I know the good from the bad.

Agreeing with Silvers (above) .....

You wind up with a jpeg as a finished product after you finish whatever raw file processing is desired. So when none of such processing is desired, theres nothing inferior about shooting direct jpegs.

Acoarst, our UHH Sacred Tradition demands polluting the thread with *WHY* working with raw files is "always" preferable, but that is simply NOT the question here. For my own use, direct jpegs are seldom suitable, but that doesnt change my above simple reply to the original simple question.

My estimate is that we have a solid 20 pages of off topic drivel awaiting us. Im grating the cheese and melting the butter right now ;-)

If you could buy a 57 Chevy Bel Air hardtop with fuel injection off the showroom floor right now would you be excited... I would depending on price Ha Ha.

Yea, but go to any car show and 57 Chevy's are a dime a dozen. I think the kids that had them when I was a kid still have the same car as an adult.

Personally I think Lightrooms Denoise feature is a gimmick. I did a free trial of Topaz and ran numerous photos through it and Lightroom. I bought Topaz. Much faster, more options and a higher quality output.

Costco Citi is a better card for cash back. Combine it with a Capital One Savour card for the various percentage on cash back and you’ll do quite well.

If you run a microwave oven while the wifi is on they will cancel each other out. I haven’t seen an alien since I started doing this.

An exception to the rule to not use sun at noon, when it is straight overhead. Maybe a little better cropping would have been advised. The small.anpuntbof foliage on both sides could be bigger or smaller, do you think the image would gain or lose from that?

Tighter crop, I have to zoom the image to capture the details.

Always buy the cheapest, then you can buy more on your search for the “best”

Adapter, a straight forward one that works just fine is $150. Can be found on sale for $100. Bells and whistles are an extra $50. Only drawbacks to any I have found is they make the lens bigger and clunkier than the R versions and unless you want to constantly change the adapter each time you change a lens you need more than one.

I am no longer a Nikon user. Since you are trying to compare apples to oranges, first compare apples to apples. Seems you know something about Canon already. If you have any Canon glass consider spending about $500 more and buy a used D5Miv. The cameras you are considering are old and losing manufacturers support. The D5MIV is a far superior camera to any you are currently considering. Or if you’re still considering Nikon, buy a used version of a more recent model. You’ll be glad you did.

At times it will say who it was renewed by if you search the small print. If renewed by the manufacturer, I might consider buying the renewed. Yet when you are only talking about $100, I would buy the new, hands down, every time unless it is grey market. Anymore when I check out the Canon factory page, you don't get much of a savings anymore when you buy renewed.

First time I did it, it was scary. I enlisted a friend with a similar camera and we did it together. Piece of cake really. Yes, YouTube is your friend. And yes, make sure you have the proper size swabs and you won't have any issues.
