The 5D3 is a great camera. I also own one, but my new 5D4 landed on my doorstep, yesterday. Now, I have a 5D4, 5D3 and a 7D2. I am putting up the latter of the two up for sale, if anyone is interested. No idea what the shutter count(s) on either body, as I have not found any software or an app that will tell the counts on those two bodies.

I have an incurable cancer and I've wanted the 5D4 since it came out and figure this (5D4) is my last camera.

If anyone is interested, I will make a great deal on the 5D3 and 7D2. Only bad news (good for me) is we fly out to Hawaii, tomorrow morning, for 2 1/2 weeks.

Feel free to make me an offer, if interested. Oh, I have a Canon EF135 f2.0 L lens that I am going to get rid of, too. I just never use it and want it gone as well. Lens is an incredible lens for bokeh and is razor sharp, too.

What focal length did you use?

I'm going to be doing something different this year. I'll be shooting from the 32nd floor of a condo patio in Honolulu toward Waikiki about four or five miles away as the crow flies, so my plans were to use my new 5D4 with my old 70-200 L 2.8 IS. Anything special I should do besides turning off IS, NR off and a solid tripod? This will be my first nite shots with my new camera, which does not arrive until Monday. I shot fireworks last year with my 5D3 (any one looking for a deal on a 5D3), but from much, much closer and with a 16-35 L 4.0 IS and had great success.

Use my same settings? I need to check my settings from last year, but I know ISO 100, around f8/11 and 8 or so seconds. Am I missing anything? I want to make sure to get in somewhat close to buildings on the Waikiki Beach, as from what I saw from my son in law's photos from last year, the fireworks will be just above the tallest buildings on the beach from the perspective of his inland 32nd floor view.

His lens he used with his Fuji was a 135 and I want to get in a bit closer at 200mm, maybe not quite that close, will just have to set it up a bit closer to the time before the show. Manual focus for sure.

The photo shown here is from last year at the Bokeelia fishing pier at the north tip of Pine Island on the southwest coast of Florida.

TIA.

To minimize your driving when leaving Monument Valley, I'd drive to Mesa Verde and explore the ruins. From there, I'd drive over to Durango and drive up the Million Dollar Highway to Ouray and stay the nite there. Hot springs (some in caves) to soak in, nice waterfall and generally a nice small town to hang out. From there, up to either Colorado Monument or the La Sal forest/ mountains or I would head to RMNP and enter from the West side and make your way, slowly, thru this wonderful park and when done head a short drive to Estes Park and stay the nite there, if your schedule permits. From there, when it's time to head to the airport, there's a beautiful church south of town (unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the church or the road to take, but you can ask a local or no doubt someone from here can probably end up telling you) which is really nice to shoot. Also south of the church around an hour or so is the only spot we saw nearly a dozen mountain goats both on the road and up on the lower sides of the cliff.

No fun driving all over to spend five minutes at a spot and moving to the next spot for the next spot and so on. I think this itinerary will minimize you having to rush.

Cripple Creek is not the same, since legalized gambling came to town and iMHO, not worth the time or gas to drive there, plus if you drive there, you'd be hard pressed to make the time to see Durango, Ouray and RMNP.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure to bring along a tripod, and have a fun trip.

I shoot with both the same body and lens and would never use the extender. You should have plenty of reach without it and have plenty of crisp and in your face photos.

You've got the wide and long end covered. I also have both the wide and long ends covered and use a 24~105 for my walk around lens, when I am willing to take off my 16~35 lens.

A tree that caught my attention, a few years ago, in southwest Oklahoma.

Try www.greentoe.com . They are kinda’ like the Kayak of travel business. I bought my 7D2 and 16~35 f/4.0 L IS from them. You tell them the price you’d like to pay, provide a credit card, which will not be charged, unless they find the item you are looking for and at the price you want.

All items are new and USA warranty and free shipping. Apparently they have lots of contacts, as both the lens and body I bought came from camera dealers that I had never heard of, but no surprises or hassles.

As Mark mentioned, below, I also own the 5D3 and it is a fabulous body.

Maybe, I am misunderstanding the question, but I love action photos that show motion which require a slow shutter speed while following the subject with a good glass (am thinking Canon 70~200 f2.8 L IS) that can help to stop a part of the subject like the person's head, when switched to 2 for horizontal motion freeze. I normally do this with rodeos and specifically barrel racing. I also tried it with one of my daughters, last year when we were all visiting in Hawaii.

This lens is not cheap, but if you love photography like I do, I feel it is an essential tool for one's camera bag ( of course, I tend to go overboard, and have probably way too many lens and bodies that I am now starting to slowly get rid of since I have been diagnosed with an incurable cancer ).

Anyway, this is a photo I took of one of my lovely daughters running from a wave. Slow shutter speed, lens set to 2 and following her as she ran.

I know nothing about the quality of Sony lens, but if I owned an A6000, and could only take along one lens, I would look at the Sony E 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Lens. It seems like it has a pretty good focal length that would cover for just about anything you would need as a travel lens. If I we're going to China, I think I would find a way to pack at least two lens.
