Your plan of wide angle/fast shutter speed sounds good. As to what you'll do with your shoes after you've stepped in dozens of sticky marshmallows, or how to clean up if one lands on your camera...someone else will have to advise
I would wear a crappy pair of shoes I didn't mind tossing.

The OP’s name isn’t Tia, it’s Janet. Tia is an acronym - “Thanks In Advance.” Forgive us Janet. We’re a bunch of old farts. Welcome to UHH.

That Rollei will always be yours, in your granddaughter's mind. It's meant in a respectful and fond way, as I have an oak secretary that once belonged to my great-grandfather, that I think of as "Grampa Hindal's oak secretary." He's been dead long since before I was born, and I'm 57. I never knew him, yet, there's that kinship.
I think you have a wonderful grandfather-granddaughter relationship. Congratulations!
I'm just getting back into photography. I chose a Canon T7i, in part due to the cost. I had no idea of crop vs full frame. I'm still getting used to the who!e digital thing. I did want as many pixels as I could afford. Down the line, I can see myself with something full frame.
Still, I'm getting back into my AE1 Program, along with the T7i. I just can't give it up.
And, not to be disrespectful, but if I were going for the best, I'd be checking out Leica etc.
I'd want to find a soft patch of grass.
